Getting problems with Rats/Pidgeons...could do with an air gun ,,,used to have one years ago (meteor I think) .

I have a BSA meteor. But I'd never part with it as My father bought it for me when I was in my early teens. (only thing he ever bought me, and to this day its in the original box)

But I'm pretty sure I have another "old style" air rifle in the shed, I'll have a look tomorrow and if its there, its yours

and if you are going to send it by post brake it down and send it in three or for pacels as engine part or something like that

I'll just put it in the boot and drive there, any excuse to go and see my friend in Doveridge, even if its just to sit on her lawn for an hour.

Don't forget that you need a licence to shoot pigeons, rats are OK but if you shoot birds you may land yourself in trouble. o_O

Really, since when. Just curious as i used to do quite a bit of pigeon shooting in the UK but that was many years ago, things could well have changed (always good to know what's what)

There is a previous post somewhere but if you check the Internet, it's quite correct. It's not a licence for a gun it's a specific licence to shoot/cull pigeons. You have to state reasons etc qty, you just can't shoot them anymore. If you are reported there are big fines.

Thanks for the heads up on that Jim, certainly missed that one.

Seems i'm way out of date with my hunting rules and regs, i'll skip taking back that AK on the next UK trip for vermin control. Seriously though i will update my father who for sure isn't aware of this and is still likely pottering around the field knocking off pigeons, rats and god knows what else....

I didnt know that either? Thought rats, squirrels, pigeons, collared doves, crows and magpies were all allowed? Good heads up there, thanks

Cant you send it complete by parcelforce 48 but with a maximum protection of £100. I've seen loads of fellas on airgun forum doing that.

DEFRA changed the license for shooting pigeons

download license here you don't need to apply or register for it, but must comply with it.

That's a good way of doing it for sure and less chance of damage. I wasn't disagreeing with you.

I sold one of my old airguns the other week for a good price, turns out that the guy that I got it tuned with made it quite collectible. Feinwerkbau Mastersport 124, I had also modified the original stock plus made a custom stock for it.

Just I'm case you didn't know...... Modern gas powered air rifles are not necessarily co2. Mine is still break over knee, fold and straighten but has a single gas piston inside (rather than a gas bottle reserve that needs refilling).
