I might uprate our Adamo to 4100kg ( as in another thread).

AS have quoted about £1250 for rear assist with electric pump etc but would manual assist be just as good although less convenient?

And, where about to enquire about that?

Thanks

We have Air Assist fitted with gauges on our current Ford Swift Voyager. We used a company called OKO Puncture Control (Airide) based near Swindon. £1250 is about right although as they've fitted their system on our previous 3 m/h they did us a cracking deal at a £1000. Excellent fitters and have travelled previously to our home in North Yorks to fit. Comes with Lifetime guarantee. Contact is Gary on 07761 230505. Laurence

We were quoted 1400€ by the dealership we bought our van from in France. I have bought the kit including compressor from Germany on Ebay for 260€ and our local garage is going to fit it for 2 hours labour, so say 200€ max.

I was recommended this as the UK product to get. Don't know what base your van is but there should be an equivalent.

I've looked at both previously for our motorhome and our overland truck. The advantages of the electric pump systems (in my opinion) far out weigh any advantage from cost saving on a system that uses a tyre pump.

Whereabouts in France are you? Just roughly, please. I'd be interested in looking at the same. Do you know how much weight this will add to your MH, please?

Why would the Ford chassis be so much more expensive than the Fiat? £500 fitted would seem to be the price on the Ducato chassis, it's only a matter of replacing the "bump stops" and running two lines to wherever you want the gauges/pressure valve located. Agree that having a pump etc is convenient but after over 10 years we've managed very well without.

A bit north of you near St Maixent L'Ecole.

I had been intending to use Ian Blundell who is in your part of the world and close to some friends of ours, but the lad up the road from where we live said it was an easy job, so I'll have another chat to him now I have the parts and hopefully save the trip.

Just got the scales out and the boxed weight of the kit is 15.6 kg, contents 14.8 kg.

If it’s on an AL-KO chassis it will be more expensive if I was having a rear system I wouldn’t bother with a compressor it’s so easy to top up with a bike pump although if you intend using it to raise the back a little when boarding ferries I suppose a compressor would help but using a bike pump could do it quite quickly🤔😊

I just had ours done
Cost was wrong side of a grand (They were doing other stuff as well)
LNB of Bristol

They have a constant stream of motorhomes coming in for TOAD's, Towbars and air suspension.
As they specialise in just that sector they do a good job.

They have a waiting room, more like a living room, so you can sit on the sofa and watch telly whilst you wait, or they will give you a courtesy car, so you can go exploring, or drive home and come back later or next day.

They can also have two vans camping overnight in the car park, with EHU, Water and a loo.

I ended up spending two nights in their car park, other than the M5 only 100m away it was fine.

They've just quoted me for a towbar and air suspension...I had to sit down and take a moment...£3150 combined. £1850 and £1300. Staggering costs

That is what we had done by LNB.
Mercedes Sprinter based, 3.8t, 6.7m Hymer MLT 570
and that is roughly what we paid.
(Plus a 300 mile round trip and two free nights camping)

I did do quite a bit of hunting around, you will get similar figures elsewhere.
(Assuming the same level of service)

I tried several tow bar companies, most will not touch motorhomes with a barge pole.
LNB seem to be one of three in England that specialise (other two are ooop t' noorth).

The air suspension has made a notable difference as Sprinters are renowned for 'wallowing'
