Currently in Germany on a three week trip with the dog. Arrived in Rotterdam a couple of weeks ago with an AHC issued in the UK. During our trip we visited a vet in Belgium and obtained a EU pet passport for the dog. We visited a German vet this morning for the tapeworm tablet to be administered and hit a problem. The vet would sign the newly issued EU pet passport but not the AHC - they hadn’t seen an AHC before and they were uncomfortable about it, particularly as the UK vet had stamped across the table where the details of the tablet administration should be recorded and they wouldn’t sign it (see the photo).
I’d hoped to have both the AHC and new EU pet passport completed so we test out the EU passport and use the AHC as a backup when checking in at Rotterdam. We don’t have that comfort blanket now. The vet was willing to enter the tablet details in the dog’s UK issued EU pet passport, which we happened to have with us, which still has a valid rabies innoculation.
So, am I likely to be allowed on the ferry with either the Belgium issued or UK issued pet passport? I’d be more comfortable if the Belgium issued pet passport didn’t look a little dodgy - poorly hand written when compared with the UK one.
