In a few weeks I'm heading down through France, Switzerland and into Italy. Switzerland sites are sorted but looking for recommendations for France and Italy. Heading down as far as Pisa- I think. Need one about 3 hours from Calais. Heading for Colmar. Cheers.

Welcome! I am sure you will get some suggestions but the ACSI books will find you campsites with a discount if you are not going in high season. For aires I would use the CamperContact app which you will find in the Play store. There are alternatives such as Park4Night which some folk prefer. :)

This is a better app than 'Fine4Night' :D2 IMO

Have a good trip :)

Thanks. We do intend to use sites rather than Aires.
You can also use Google maps. Just type "camping" into the search bar and any campsites will be highlighted on the map. Click on one and you should find the website for more details such as prices.

I wouldn't ignore aires though, there are some crackers in France. :)

We always use the Aires in France, there are loads of lovely free ones.

Bit further than 3 hours but Pont a Mousson is about €10 a night. On the riverbank, ehu, nice parking and nice town

Vivier aux carpes close to st Quentin. On the acsi sites. Good size private pitches. Good clean shower/toilet areas, good walks and cycle rides and next to a small village.

Ginnes is probably less than 20 minutes and again in the ACSI book

Thanks everyone. I'll check them out.
