Hi top
Exp
2017
Looking for recommendations from the motorhome community for 3x sites in Croatia using the ACSI card next spring.
Pointers please?

Hi
For Croatia look at Valamar.com. You must visit the two big National Parks on the mainland but then go by ferry to the islands. We found the islands friendly but not the mainland. ACSI was a disappointment as we found that a discount was given but the sites then invented taxes to get their share of the wealth back. Can help more in 10 days when we get back to UK if you pm.

I loved Croatia in the motorhome, the national parks are a must. I found people friendly everywhere.
There are lots of sites dotted along the coast, don't bother booking they woun't be full at the time your going.
The camp site at Stara Baska on Krk (road bridge across) was a particular favourite but lots of other smaller sites were excellent.
Pag (road bridge across) was a bit of a disappointment, but not really sure why, it just wasn't quite as good / scenic as I'd imagined for some reason.
I didn't get a ferry to any islands and tbh I'm not sure there is much on the islands that you can't get on the mainland which is why I only went to those islands with a road bridge. Other may know different. I've done a couple of the islands on fly n flop basis before moho and although lovely, similar can be found on mainland.
I used ACSI but as above, usually a discount was possible without.
Can't wait to go back  :pray:

We’ve booked at valamar at Stara Baska next June for a week via the plitvice lakes👍 Been kicking it down the road for two years now, I hope we get there next year🤞🤞

We've done Croatia and the former Yugoslavia many times so know the country very well. Think twice about the islands as you will pay good money on the ferries and we found most of the islands just the same as the mainland. Also don't be tempted to stay around the Istrian peninsula as the southern sections are far more beautiful. We did Dubrovnik many times before the cruise ships started to visit, its nice but I personally wouldn't go back. If you like little laid back places then Zaostrog is a must. I have given you a link to the section of my blog that covers our last trip. There are 3 pages of info so scroll down to the bottom of each page and click on 'older post'. Also click on photos to enlarge. I'm sure you'll find this helpful as we tended to only use Acsi sites. If you are really interested you could look at the pages before and after this section to see our stop offs in other countries. http://lightningtours.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2018-10-07T23:06:00-07:00&max-results=7

A lot of sites aren't ACSI but give a 10% discount if you have a Camping Card.
We found the smaller Auto Camper stops nicer and only around €10 a night.

I’d be interested in your experiences in Croatia too.
Perhaps you could add them to this thread for us to follow?
Thanks.
