Can anyone tell me why the steps will not retract when the engine is switched on of my ACE Genova motorhome. The fuse has been changed several times but only works a few times before it blows again. The supplier has replaced the fuse three times and they cannot give me any explanation why it will not work.

The step motor is drawing too much current to make it work and eventually blows the fuse.

Possibly because the emchanism is dirty, gunged up so the motor has to work too hard, or the motor is faulty.

Agree with Peter on this one.

I tend to clean and lube our step after every trip, its amazing the amount of muck you find. Have just cleaned ours after a 6 week trip of Scotland, and could have almost grown plants in the amount of muck cleaned out.
