I had a Tunnel frequent traveller to use up before the start of May so looked when we were free to fit in a quick weekend away.

booked without thinking... departing late evening March 29th and returning April 1st.

I'll let you know how it goes!

You are now the official funster guinea pig, sent to venture into the Brexit unknown.
Good luck with your mission.

Perfect timing or what !

You might want to pack an inflatable dingy with you, just in case you can't get back thro the tunnel. Seems the preferred method of crossing the channel these days anyway.

No problem, just shout, “British! Less of your nonsense!” and stroll straight through.

But ignore the French Border Guard with the gun. He doesn’t really want to have the bother of drawing it from his holster. You’ll be perfectly safe!:xeek:

I may have the same problem flying out of Porto on the 2nd April.

We’re coming back on th 23rd March ‘cos you just know if the french can f**k it up for us they will

How late in the evening are you going? We don't leave the EU until 11pm UK time (midnight in Europe).

We're flying to Pisa on 29 March, but go in the morning - coming back a week later... we hope.

We will just squeeze in arriving at 22:55!
I think the potential unpredictability will add to the weekend!

Just go along with the attitude that it will be an experience - a tale to tell on the forum and seeing how everyone else is avoiding those dates you might fly through(y) good luck and following your post with great interest!

We are back in UK for the month of March, made sure we got a crossing out on 27th March, Portsmouth to Santander. We’ll see what happens after that.

We're on the Cap Finistere back from Bilbao to Plymouth on 28th March arriving on the 29th. It was a while after I booked it that it clicked why the price was so good compared with a few days earlier! I had just been thinking end of March. Oh well, we shall see.

This all sounds like when we reached Year 2000, when everything was going to crash:whistle:

I assume that most of these posts are wind-ups, as if leaving the EU for UK unless anyone can prove one overstayed 90 days in any one country, difficult to prove, why would anyone stop you leaving?

Yes. Apart from the fact that then we spent hundreds of man hours of work, fixing bugs in code so there was no disaster. For March we just have a few extra non-existant ferries.

Well I’m setting off to Spain next week taking two dogs and returning early April and can’t see why there should be any problems getting back. If they wouldn’t let us out of France we could always extend our holiday.
