I travelled the full 2.5 mile length of the bypass today for the first time.

Northbound Between the Cayton Bay roundabout (just after the Haven holiday park)and the Osgodby underpass is a new Ministry Checking Area. (just before the underpass)

it is a steel barriered pull-in with two inspection lanes.

If you know you are overweight :Eeek::Doh:i would suggest exiting right at the Cayton bay roundabout and use the 'old' road, rejoining the new A165 at the northern end (wheatcroft roundabout).

Funsters would never dream of travelling overweight of course.

john.

we can now fly up there from filey only stopping for car boot first

Yep! you sure can......so much quicker but be aware there are three speed limits.
from Cayton bay to the park + ride/Eastfield roundabout its 60mph.
from the park + ride to wheatcroft roundabout its 50mph:Angry:
then 30mph into town, if your lucky, with all the new lights on filey road.

Bye Bye Byepass

Bet the golfers arn`t happy, it goes straight thorough Scarborough S/C Golf Club by the look of it on Google maps. and anyhow I still can`t use it to get to St Margaretts road I/E . (7.5T)

bit confused there Pete....7.5T ?

there isnt a weight limit on the bypass and i believe the 7.5T weight restriction has been removed from Queen Margarets rd (over olivers mount)

the road was closed for a month so the highways could put in concrete pilings and rebuild the road. i'll check on that tomorrow to be sure.

the golfers arnt too bothered as they got a shiny new foot bridge over the road to get from one set of greens to the other.

Hi
Mucho Apologies I meant Queen Margarets Road, Beyond the entrance to the Mere its was 7.5T limit. Delivering to the I/E means going through Cayton and past the Chip Factory (from Brid;). OR coming in from the Pickering End, over the top from Driffield.
