Hello from Warrington,
We are looking forward to our second season learning about our Arto “Dave”. This winter we have gotten a little more organised - MOT, hab checks, a touch of gearbox work and welding completed in Northwich in the last couple of months. Not too bad at all for a 2003 vehicle - internal fixtures, fittings and engine are great, as N&B should :-)
Teenage kids and working aged adults will keep our travels to the odd weekend but a summer a trip to Berlin could be in the planning… but before venturing away from campsite facilities we will need to have a new showertray and hose fitted, both have split. “Dave’s” backstory, or so we were told, is that his adventures were from the Shetland Isles to Spain annually - there are certainly receipts from Lerwick and sand in the airframe awning! He’s a lovely vehicle as was certainly well looked after.
Reading funster’s posts this last 18 months has been invaluable - thank you all for your reassuring and knowledgable N&B posts and if anyone knows where to find bathroom bits from 2004, that would be the icing on the cake..
With best wishes, wateringcanrose

Hi and welcome, re your shower take a mo and take a look at a company called Speedcoat for shower repair as they get great reviews tho not cheap. But getting a new one for a vehicle of your era could also be difficult and expensive.
Good luck in your quest and travels

Speedcoat get lots of good reviews and may be simpler than sourcing a replacement.
The hose should be a simple replacement, just a standard domestic one I think.
Oh and .......

Thank you - have left messages with a couple of Speedcoat folks today - their website shows just what we need :)

We had our 2004 Arto shower tray repaired by Speedcoat and it’s been perfect for 8 years

Thanks everyone - i have contacted our local Speedcoat fella and Mike was very helpful. As you can see, there is a previous repair so having it sorted will give peace of mind. Bye the way, how do others stop little seeds and bits of leaf coming in through the skylight?!? I am hopeful that the Speedcoat can be booked in for the end of June.

Have you not got a flyscreen you can pull across.

Hi, quicker reply than 2 yrs this time! The present conundrum is the wooden garage floor held in place with the four bolts, as the only bit which could start to rot - it has - have any Arto owners any tips from a similar situation

Hi!! Just came across this thread whilst wandering around Motorhome Fun! We have a 2005 Arto and are in Haslington. Our garage has a small amount of dry rot in the back edge. A friend of ours has suggested putting a cheque plate replacement in. This would be made to measure and screwed in place.

Do you mean to replace the wood thats rotten or to cover up the rot so it can spread!

Morning, yes, some wood replacement will be needed. I’m intrigued by the mention of seals - is this the one around the inside of the garage door and was it easy to source/fit?

We’ve recently had the drivers side window taken out and resealed, great job but maybe this side of the van (therefore the garage door) needs watching!

We decided to replace all of the joint sealant all over the van because we have had a few issues. All dry now thankfully! The actual rubber seals are fine.

Maybe I am not explaining it properly... when I said seals I meant the white stuff that's between the joins eg. Along the roof, down the sides etc. the actual rubber seals all seem good.
