Yes Wendy, we remember it well. We all biked in to Ypres from the Aire with the unpronounceable name!PS, do you remember bumping into us in Ypres, Belgium? Can't believe that was 7 years ago!![]()
I seem to remember MH's used to be allowed to overnight at the Castle and they perhaps saw an opportunity, so built the CL down by the river. We only visited the castle when there. Mind you it was all pretty 'wetland' when we were there.
Thanks for the info about Geldo it’s great seeing all the artwork and the Aire is good also. I hope we can catch up with you again soon.Yes Wendy, we remember it well. We all biked in to Ypres from the Aire with the unpronounceable name!
I think I helped one of you with a bike chain?
We also chatted with you and your dog on the Cite d'Europ (when we were allowed to stay there!)
Really liked the 'Art' in Geldo. The detailing on the man's whiskers was amazing. Just missed you a while back at Keswick as we live nearby.
Looks like a Massey Ferguson 35, that's what I learned to drive on !Found in a barn today near where I live. From what I can discover it is probably from the early 60s. I'm sure chaser will know.

Try The Abbey Vale for a pint n food whilst you are in Delamere, or The Carriers near the Lake.Delamere Forest CACC this weekend.
8 and a bit miles round trip today. Once past the visitor centre and Old Pale Hill it was a lot quieter.
The hidden trig point among the (apparently redundant) pylons. Jodrell Bank and the Lovell telescope easily visible (in person, anyway).

Continuing South, partly on the Sandstone Trail, past a park up with a very nice RP Sprinter and a big Auto Trail (Kelsall Parking Area on Google) eventually headed down to the Boot Inn, and some very tasty Weetwood ales. Very nice sitting outside in the sunshine.

Back north again, parallel to the route out, past the Kelsall equestrian centre, very busy. Clouded over and light rain, so timed our pub stop and picnic lunch perfectly.
Back past Eddisbury Hill Fort, again with views east and north.
