A visitor to our oak tree at the bottom of our garden this morning.

Decided to have a preening session.

It's a bit windy where we are today and the branch was waving around a lot, so moved onto a thicker branch and played peeka boo.

Correct, Red Kites are regular visitors in the sky's above us, and a little bit later the one in the photo took off circled a couple of times and then when down in the field behind us and then came up gripping something in it's talons.

As a nipper, helping out with harvest in the 60's, barley only ever had two rows of grain on the ears, the only time we saw four rows was on wheat which we rarely grew. Picked up this ear that the combine has missed, 6 rows of grain on every stalk, that's a great improvement ? I wonder if it's done with selective breeding or genetic tampering ?

Been for walk as felt needed to find somewhere peaceful. Very few places locally but was happy with this one.
