Lighthouse at Cap De La Hague taken when I arrived here on Wednesday

The view from the Aire taken this morning before walking down to use the free wifi at the office de Tourisme. It is slow. Hoping to upload a segmented saga to Fannying about in France.

Cheers Clive

Wifi is intermittent.

I walk down clink street on my early morning walk with Laika the wonderdog. This morning while she was sniffing a lamp post I looked up and saw this chap.
Im not sure how long he has been hanging around.
Clink St runs by borough market and near Southwark cathedral.
I have been in the museum several years ago and didn't think it was worth the door fee.
I've kept the photo B&W for the atmosphere .View attachment 252076
I guess that must be why going to prison is often called “going to clink”. I’d always thought it was to do with the sound of chains as you walked in manacles..

Every day’s a school day!

Great photo BTW

Our lunch stop today was at Loch Cluanie, between Invergarry and Kyle of Lochalsh.
Looks like the dry summer has affected this reservoir as well. Water looks to be 15 - 20 feet lower than normal on the dam.

Our pitch for tonight is the Ardelve Camp Site.
Well it's more like an Aire or Camper Park really. It is a field in the village of Ardelve, just off the A87 after passing Eilean Donan Castle. The field has a tarmac entrance track leading to two long level stretches of stone hard standing. There are several EHU bollards with a £2 coin slot if you require them. There is a free drinking water tap on each bollard. There are 2 toilet and shower blocks with 50p slots for the showers. Right on the side of the loch with stunning views.
Overnights are £15 and collected by the owner during the evening. There is a Pub, pizza shop, and bakery within walking distance.
I believe @old-mo used to stop here but the owner denied this is where his old joke books are kept:whistle:

A stonker of a morning here.
Boat on boat with The Tower of London in the background and the city to the left.
The water was making that lovely lapping sound which I love.
Laika the wonderdog kept scratching my leg to hurry me up and throw her ball again.

After being badly singed in last year's fires my olive, pear, apple, peach and cherry trees, whilst recovering well and growing leaves, haven't produced any fruit this season.

So I was very happy when I spotted that my fig tree has recovered enough to bear signs of producing fruit...

Better late than never...

And my tomatoes seem to be doing well...

Been around the block a few times😉
Bit of a stroll around Glynllifon today apparently it's being turned into a hotel/wedding venue but it's a shadow of its former self.
Hopefully the building and grounds will return to their former glory?

Overcast morning here in londinium , things soon cheered up when I saw that the bridge was open . It was open for this French cruise ship which glided through with the help of a tug. Laika the wonderdog was yipping at my heels to throw her ball, she soon cheered up when I picked her up to see the ship. I think she got a wave as well.

Our pitch for the night before last (sorry no signal) was at one of the West Harris Trusts camping spots on the road to Luskentyre, Harris. They ask you to make a donation of £5 via PayPal. There are no services other than a waste bin but views in abundance (y)
We stayed for two nights and were joined on 2nd night by David & Bev.@DavidG58 who rewarded us with some acrobatics
