Great news on Wednesday dealer called our new Niesmann had finally after two delays and nearly a years wait hit the uk dealer, it wouldn’t be ready for two or three week’s as there is still a few things to have done to it in the UK.
Dealer said would you like to come and see it?
YES, YES, YES.
So off we went this morning got the the keys and went for a look, walking up to it it looks great, went in looked to the front all great turned round in the kitchen and bang, sat where our lovely big tech tower fridge, freezer and oven should have been was a standard small fridge with a small freezer, a large oven family size and a microwave also the pan draw at the bottom had been deleted to get it all in.

NO that’s not what we ordered.

Now it’s all up in the air it can’t just be swapped out, the UK order is correct, it’s a cock up at the factory but they can’t just built another one and send it over next week. After such a long wait we are really peed of and on a low:mad::mad:. However we didn’t shout, rant or rave, after all it wasn’t the salesman fault he is going to see what can be done and get back to us on Tuesday. The thing is I already know nothing can be done with this van but at the same time I don’t want to wait again.
At this price you would think it would be checked, checked and checked again.

we will have to wait and see what they say on Tuesday just a few sleepless nights till then.

Nothing to say really, I guess you are between a rock and a hard place and only you can say whether it is a deal breaker in current market.
Sorry for your stressful time.

Noooooooo! That's just awful. I suppose the quickest solution would be a huge discount but it's never going to be what you ordered. I feel so sorry for you but I hope you can reach a conclusion that you're happy with :hugs:

Why is it that it seems impossible to get anything done properly nowadays? OK that’s a sweeping generalisation, but certainly my perception and recent experience.

Does “ can’t be bothered “ rule? Is it down to lack of training, education, attitude…or what?

That must be very disappointing for you.

it might be a blessing in disguise though. We had two Niesmann Bischoffs, both had the tech towers and we had problems with both. As well as the problems I found the oven to be extremely awkward in that it was positioned high up and removing hot dishes was pretty dangerous.

We have a different motorhome now with a layout comprising a full size oven under the hob and a large fridge, freezer and microwave where the tech tower was in our other MH’s. Could this layout work for you? It may be that things could be rearranged with the vehicle you now have.

Good luck!

Thanks all.
we can’t move things around due to the vents in the side of the van.
I can’t see there being any discount the wait is now well over a year, there’s a similar van (still not right) up for sale at the dealer at 170k that’s 25k over ours, they could sell ours for more then we are paying.
Thanks

wonder if there is another Niesmann owner looking at a tech tower and wondering where his oven and microwave is, take it this is the only uk dealer. You must be gutted especially after such a long wait,

Jeez! I'd be mortified, especially having already waited a year for something that was costing me 30 times more than my first house.
Hope it will be resolved satisfactorily.

Are you sure that someone is not being presented with the van you ordered and you have their van ?

Such a disappointment

PaddyM has a point

Use your disappointment/frustration to dig deeper, starting with your original order confirmation and following through to the build number and specification at Polch, which you can then check against what was delivered.

We must know who the dealer is as there is only one in UK .......world.

When you have the paperwork together get back to me if you wish(by PM if you want) to see if as a lawyer I can help.

I have in the past told Polch that I will only deal with the factory, which was fine when they had no dealer in Poland, but now they have a new one. Unfortunately the senior sales guy has has recently retired , as I found out when I e-mailed him. A loss to N&B.

I have some other ideas, but maybe better on a PM

Geoff

Thanks again all it has to be our van, we had quite a few options and very specific option colours and decals, white van with orange and carbon fibre bits, looks nice.

The converse of this, we had the set up which has been fitted in error on a Flair we purchased back in 2015. It was a complete disaster, the Thetford oven never worked in 2 years of ownership. Most ovens are vented through the roof. But due to the microwave being above the oven this was not possible. They fitted a large bank of cooling fans to the rear of the oven and a number of other changes which were never successful. I did notice N&B changed the manufacturer to Dometic so hopefully it is no longer an issue. We sold the motorhome without ever finding a solution and I had follow up conversations with the guy who purchased it and again he was working with Thetford on a number of solution, none were successful, he did get the oven to work but had ongoing challenges with the grill. Travelworld were as useless as ever in helping both myself and the new owner.

I hope all goes well and you come to an amicable solution/compromise.

Very annoying to say the least.Hope you can come to a satisfactory solution.
If your dealer is on the ball he will be looking for a reasonable outcome.
Good luck coming soon to you hopefully.

So sorry to hear of this, and I know nothing about how these are built, so excuse my ignorance, but when I read this my first thought was, that it's possible for the outside to be right (decals etc.) but the inside to be wrong. Different departments, areas on the production line? I do hope you can get it sorted out.

Thanks all.

My understanding is that instead of the tech tower you now have a smaller fridge/freezer and a larger oven… if that’s the case why can’t they just put a larger fridge/freezer in and a smaller oven? It can’t be so difficult to work out the vents.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma, we have recently sold our N&B which had the tec tower, we found the oven too high which made it dangerous getting food in and out and then there was no grill, however we had the same set up in our Hymer which did have a grill which was useless and actually got in the way when cooking in the oven as it took up some of the space. The large fridge freezer was nice but we found it to be not necessary in the end, also we had to buy another shelf because of the gap in there. This probably won’t help you but hope you get a resolution.

I would say a smaller fridge is not a big handicap, plenty places to buy food here and Europe, if it is otherwise what you want I would go for a discount, only trouble with that is I presume you are not to a grand or two if you could afford it in the first place so money is not a big issue and if it's worth 25 grand more than you paid the dealer isn't too worried either, so could you get some more extras include in the price?
Otherwise take it ,try it out for a year to see if you get to like it, if so no problems, but if you don't get on with it sell it next year at a good profit and a free years motorhomeing thrown in.
Don't see how you can lose.

If I was paying that money for a van and it turned up not as ordered I would bounce it back to the dealer. I know you say its not the salesmans fault but they are the people you placed the order with, so they are responsible for chasing it through and ensuring the build is going to plan.

Don't settle for compromise when you have chosen what you wanted, you'll never be satisfied.

Other posts are probably correct in that someone has all your chosen options in a van they didn't order them in?

Must be terrible to wait so long and to see it is not what you ordered. Could they not fit a large compressor fridge as they do not need vents as they only run ob 12V. A friend has one fitted and they would not go back to the 3 way fridge.
The compressor fridge saves on gas and apparently does not use too much battery power. It is also a lot better as the fridge and freezer both work at lower batter. Much like the fridge in your home.

Oh dear what a disappointment I can only start to imagine how you are feeling now, are you sure that the factory can't put it right, I guess if the fridge vents are in the wrong place the answer would be no but worth seeing what they can offer.

I would be grateful for any sort of MH on my driveway at the mo.
That's my point, if it's worth 25 grand more than he's paid, he can't lose really just for the sake of a smaller fridge.
Or just pay 25 grand more for another and wait another year.

jako999 is this what they have fitted?

That one of their used vans.

Or possibly this as it's a newer van.

the worst thing is in this market now its in their favour if the refund you and sell the van to someone else i doubt they will supply another van at the same price
