How long does it usually take to get a replacement?

New van needs one, sent from Germany on the 28th dealer suggests customs is slow...

The usual saying is… “how long is a piece of string”

the new saying is now… “how long is European customs” 😆

Depends how it was sent. Since Jan 1 I have had several items from Germany, admittedly not as difficult as a windscreen glass, but I found that forcing the sender to use UPS Express next day worked, at my extra cost though, anything else just seemed to give the couriers a reason to dawdle through customs procedures and a get out of jail free card explanation of a tardy delivery that just forever got put back on the app due to customs delays!!

It is their way of protesting. Give it time things will revert back to normal soon.

Dealer was sorting it out.

It can take sometime but some dealers do stock them in the uk look on the bright side your not paying they are around £6,000 fitted😳

I think when we had ours done Autoglass sourced one through Travelworld took about three weeks before brexit though🤔 ours cost around £1700 from memory

There is a huge pit, (actually a new warehouse), in Coventry where all imports are dumped. Items can eventually be recovered after all the paperwork is completed and you pay the import duty.

I bought a pair of tyres from a UK advertiser which turned out to be in Germany.
The tyres took a tour on their own, they passed through most of the main EU countries, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, etc, plus an East European country before finally getting to me.
Took a couple of weeks and tracked all the way.

There is an A class just around the corner from me. I think that he’s screen was damaged in the last gale. Last week ☹️
