a class Rapido

Hi,
I have a Rapido A class...just flown through Mot so decided it would be worth getting the tracking checked. The commercial garage is equipped with latest four wheel laser alignment machine. Problem is as the A class body work protrudes so far the device doesn't work. I have tried several commercial tyre depots same story. Has anyone out there experienced this situation??? Am based in Gods own West country.

Run your hand across the tread at the top of the front tyres.
If the tread 'grabs' your hand in one direction but not the other, the tread is becoming feathered due to scrubbing of the tyre.
The feathering will indicate the direction of the tracking error.
If your hand is grabbed as you pull it towards you, the wheels are toeing in too much.
If your hand is grabbed as you push it away, the wheels are toeing out too much.
In time, the feathering will become excessive wear on one side of the tyre or other.

Other suspension geometry issues can also cause uneven tyre wear but tracking is the only thing that causes feathering.

Thanks appreciate the info...I have a slight pull to nearside tyre wears fine..want to check alignment as all steering joints pass mot standards.
It's where can do it...everyone seems to have invested in laser equipment the days of mirror adjustment seem to be long gone...

The pull is just the van wandering down the camber of the road.
I haven't driven anything that hasn't!

Apart from a Warrior 513, and a 432!:)

Should you.find yourself in the Midlands, motorhome depot in Redditch did mine. Certainly improved things.

Willy, I take my van to Westley Garage Helston. It might be worth giving them a ring.

Mines not an A class but they possibly could help very friendly family run business.
Phil.
