Are most of the gas bottles for moho's screw in fitment?

I've seen 11kg bottles for sale ?? Are they a different fitment?
Refillable bottles come in 6 kg, 11kg & 14kg, most people opt for the 11 kg refillable.

You can get the dimensions from the manufacturer's sites, Gaslow, Alugas etc.
The bulkhead regulator needs to be above the top of the bottles.

Unless someone with the same m/h can confirm that it will fit the only way to be sure is to try a larger one because your gas locker door isn't as deep as the locker. It's not just the cylinder height that's important; you need wiggle room to install it..

Just ordinary not refillable.

British Propane have a Male screw in fitting
British Butane have a Left Hand Thread Female fitting.
Incidentally that Female fitting also fits some french gas bottles and the outlet for a Spanish adaptor fitting on one of their bottles.

You do not want a Butane bottle as the liquid in the bottle has problems turning to a gas below 5degs C

Yeah easy taking out an empty..not so easy putting in a full one .

Not sure which one ...I'm leaning towards propane .

We've got two 6kg gaslow refillables. Even running the fridge on gas they last a month. Just for cooking they'd last all year 😊 we don't need the heating on ever.

Do I have to get the van converted to refill or just take the empties out and refill them ??
There is a make of bottle (Safefill) where the nozzle from the filler connects directly.
However, anecdotal evidence says that garages are wary of anyone opening a locker to fill 'something' as they believe you would be illegally filling a non refillable bottle.
The refillable bottles most peeps use (Gaslow for one) has a connector fitted to the outside of the van at a suitable place and the gas being filled goes into the bottle via a tube. To garage operators it looks like you are filling up like you would diesel.

Butane only any good between May & September, it's stops gassing off at 0° but pretty useless below 10°, Propane works down to -40°.

Propane then ..this is gonna be an all year round moho.

The locker door height doesn't look big enough for other than a 6 kg bottle or similar .If you advise what van it is someone could then advise who has one
I recall you were looking at the Eldiss 196.
They will only take a 6 kg type bottle and that's a faf putting them in and out.

Our locker takes a single 6 kg one in the UK I suspect its designed for 11 kg in France. Not too much of a problem as were diesel for heating so get through gas fairly slowly but swapping for a single 11 kg gasit refillable was one of the best upgrades we've done it just fits.

Majestic196.

Your intended Eldiss 196 will only take a 6 kg size bottle x2. You will struggle to take them out and even put them in. The locker door is really a bit on the narrow side. We have a 175 and have 2 X 6 kg gaslow. With an internal filler point . ( Which we have had no issues filling with ) but most would recommend an external fill point
Whatever you do don't put the filler point in the door.
For info you can use one 6kg refillable connected along with a back up 6 kg calor ,which is a bit of a cheaper option and keep topping up the refillable rather than using the calor.

What kinda money for a refillable set up?

Just look on the gasit website. It depends a lot whether you get 2 refillables or one. The really big advantage is you can top up any point rather than wait until it's empty or swap before and waste gas.

Check gaslow
https://www.gaslowdirect.com/
But there is also gasit
6 kgs are around £ 230 each plus hoses etc at £30 each so you are looking at around £300 £350 for a single bottle and around £550-600 for a pair.plus fitting.,but it is relatively straightforward to do..
Just rough estimates btw

Just for balance, our gaslow filler is inside the locker and I've never been refused a fill up in 8 years. The bottles are bright yellow so everyone knows they are refillable 👌

If it's the same as the Elddis 196 (it looks like it) Google has a short vid here which shows two 6kg in the locker.
