I have a Maxview Roam fitted with a 3 24 month sim card. Does anyone know if its possible to see how much data has been used or is left?

I think it will only tell you how much data has been used since it was last reset.
Or thats all I've been able to discern from it with a Huawei mifi, I'm not familiar with your router.
You can go into the ip address and do a reset at 192.168.1.1

You should be able to register & login into MyThree to see the current usage.
Your Maxview Roam router may have an app.
I emailed Maxview and they didn't know. I tried to log on to the My 3 site while in France but failed miserably so finished off our trip without it as we had run out of data

My experience was similar. Working ok one minute then stopped and I tried to follow the web page instructions that said I had no data allowance left and invited me to buy more but locked me out. I have found the My 3 web site but it needs the mobile number that comes with the sim card. I'll find it this morning and see if I can make any sense of it.

Hi Vennwood,

Sorry you didn't get an answer our of the Customer Support Team. There are actually a couple of ways you could do this. Using the Maxview Roam App you can keep an eye on your monthly usage and set a usage limit. Alternatively you can Login to the Router on 192.168.1.1, then go to Status > Mobile Traffic > Total to see your total usage. You can delete this data if you insert a new SIM card to start the log from 0mb. If you've updated the firmware to the most recent release you need to go to Status > Mobile Usage > Total.

Hi Lee,
Thanks for the information. A couple of questions for you - how do I know if I have the latest software installed. Secondly how do I update if I need to?

Hi Pete,

Are you using the Maxview Roam App? That will tell you on the 'System' page what the firmware is. RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.5 and anything lower is the old, whereas the latest is RUT2_R_00.07.01.4.

To update, you will need to login to router WebUI at 192.168.1.1. Once logged in, 'System' > 'Firmware' will take you to the firmware update screen. If it has an internet connection, the router will show you the latest firmware and can download and install it. Depending on the firmware installed, you may need to update it twice to get to the very latest release.

Hi Lee,

I have loaded the Maxview Roam app and set that up so I now have the software version and see I need to update so will do that next. I guess I'm a bit "thick" because I can now see that the data used is 0.01gb so I guess that relates to "data used since start of using the app" which makes sense, but I still don't know how much I have left on my current sim card. I further guess this can only come from 3. From now on at least I can see how much I'm using and if all fails I can reset it next time I replace the sim card.

Hi Pete,

That all makes sense to me. If you can get the data out of 3 then you can do the maths and work out how much you have left then work to do that value, and yes, if you pop a new SIM card in you can reset all he data and start from scratch.
