Under the bonnet, dead centre in fornt of wiper motor is a large plastic cover which I removed today for the first time, under it is just a relay with cables to a number of sensors?
Anyone know what the relay is for?

One of the relays should be for the 12v to your fridge to run when driving. And the same relay powers the step if you have one. I have had trouble with the connections on the base getting hot and failing. The spade connectors are now direct to the relay.

So your suggesting it's for converters to add bits into?
Seems a bit luxurious
Cables seem to go to sensors around the turbo area?

I'm sure there is a fuse/relay in there that has something to do with the speedo
Read it either on here or the fiat forum when I was researching my 2003 van

Yes its a great big black plastic cover about 10" wide under the scuttle dead centre of the bay and now that Ive looked it only contains just the one relay? cables seem to go to the turbo area over the back of the engine., bit of a puzzle.
Dont have an electric step and I thought the fridge relay was under the fridge and the charge relay was at the side of the batery itself
Anyway, thanks all
Mike
