As we are using the motorhome 1 trip per month, our minds turn to our November plans.
Unfortunately we are not lucky enough to be retired and are both still working full time nurses.

So, our longest possible time is the weekend of the 19th, 20th, 21st November. So leaving Bedfordshire 5pm in the dark to get somewhere, stay the night then plan to do something all day the Saturday, stay that night and perhaps up early Sunday with a quick wander nearby and home to Bedfordshire again by dark as we are both working again Monday morning.

So does Im thinking somewhere on the south coast between Southampton and Margate? This is the stretch we are thinking about and easiest gotten to for us.

We like the beach but anything interesting along that stretch anyone else has knowledge of would be good to know to help us decide.
The default will be a probable off grid stay two nights in a row near a beach, but as I say all suggestions welcome :-)

I would stay well clear of Southampton....... its a horrible city with constant traffic jams with nothing to see once inside, I would probably go as far as Chichester then cut up onto M25 and home

Maybe I'm not bring ambitious enough but, rather than driving along the coast which imo gets pretty urban beyond Hastings, I recommend visiting Rye and then heading inland to East Sussex and the Weald of Kent

Hi.
Get to Southampton...See...... " Camping in the New Forest sites."... Our favourite... Setthorns Campsite, just outside of Brokenhurst. Nice walks through the forest. While there,go down to Lepe beach,we park at the car park on the top of the hill just before you drop down to the beach and Cafe car park. There are steps from the top car park to the cafe, but if you walk along from the top c/park,keeping the sea on your right, you will have a nice walk and see where they constructed Mulberry harbours WW.2. Chill out there. Beaulieu Museum is nearby.Lyndhurst,Lymington etc
Or,don't know about restrictions in place, but you could catch a ferry across to the Isle of Wight.for the day/stop the night? ( Get your knees brown and Duty free's ? )
There is so much to see and do just in that area, little or no miles. We liked it so much,we moved down there for a few years.
Enjoy.

Traffic jams ? Start at Chichester ? I think their ‘ ring rd ‘ as their fair share of traffic jams 😂 . Nothing to see ? Pleasant walk around the old town /walls , and view the ocean liners if in port ? Everything from 4 spoons ! 😂 within walking distance of each other to the grand cafe for afternoon tea ! at south western house with the titanic connection . Free parking up by common short walk into city centre , yes Southampton as a lot going for it and plenty more in pipeline , development of mayflower park and old pier that is a sorry sight at the moment .

New forest, corfe castle, Swanage??

While I like the Isle of Wight, it's £150 and added time and hassle for such a short trip this time round at this time of year.

Blimey........ lived here for 30 yrs would love to move away but have G/ children here and can't leave because of them... maybe if visiting for a few hours might not be so bad !!!!!!... Must say that we go west from here and it does become civilised.. Forest / Milford / Bournemouth....... but not for the City

I was surprised to have difficulty finding a CL/CS near Chichester with availability for 6 days in November. We tried 5 sites, all fully booked, before finding one that had a vacancy. PaulC70 Your planning ahead is a very good idea for what is obviously a well deserved opportunity to get away.

all on the wrong side of southampton for this trip I'm afraid.
Quicker to go down the A34 than the M25 on a Friday night by a long stretch!! 🤣🤣🤣

Id head to herne bay as i doubt you can make canterbury park and ride that time on a friday night you can stay in the carpark overnight for £2 plus hourly charge after 8 am it right on the front and theres usual sea side restaurants if you want a meal and a couple of pubs. fFom there i would park along the cliffs at westbay near margate the next day nice walk margate one way Mimmis bay the other either street park or go to canterbury that night free bus in to Canterbury
Then deal park at Sandown castle over night again walk into deal or along the golf course deal is pretty with bars and resturants
the best thing is from Canterbury your center of a peninsular with coast on three sides and all within 30 mins drive you could mix and match any of the above knowing you can get back to canterbury for an overnight if you need to you have to enter before 830 at canterbury ITS £8 a night

i know its right on your doorstep, but you could stay at The Bennets Arms, near Bury St Edmonds (free if you use the pub!), then next morning take a short trip into Bury St Edmonds and see if you can get a motorhome park up in their dedicated motorhome spaces at Ram Meadow Car Park and park up there and spend the day and night there, sightseeing and just chilling, then on Sunday, on your way home, stop at the Risbey Antique Centre for an hour or so, browsing through the many small 'shops' ......

it might not be exotic, but its close to where you live and worth considering for a short weekend break between shifts?

I'd never heard of Herne Bay I have to admit but having a good look on google and tripadvisor it looks like this would be a good shout round here (y)

Not at all what i was looking for BUT still like it! I'll add it to the possibilities, if not for November for another time when we have a small window of getting away. That pub gets great reviews on tripadvisor and on searchforsites and having found ram meadows car park on there too which is similarly well thought of. Nice find! (y)

It's actually £4 for Midnight to Midnight so it's only the 1st night that costs £8. If you stay a 2nd night it's £4 extra so £12; 3 nights £16.
