I'm a newbie November 2014
Thanks for the welcome since we started.

Well we pick up our Buccaneer Clipper tomorrow and can't wait!!!
Going to do a few days out in her to get to know a few things. We are looking for a site for 1 night in a friendly Devon or Cornwall site that won't be too daunting for us 1st timers. Any help very much appreciated.

Hi & congratulations, you must be sooo excited:clap2:

I'm sure others will make recommendations but in the meantime have you seen ukcampsite.co.uk for ideas and reviews?

Have fun & enjoy your camper:)

Our first time out , without hook up.
We didn't realise the brilliant Webasto diesel heating the MH had would flatten the bog standard leisure batteries in no time. We all woke up freezing cold. Everything flat. Luckily a friend on the rally, a truck driver. Gave us some fantastic advise.
("Get some Trojan batteries ! )
We've never looked back . Never ( well hardly ever , 5 times in as many years) have hook up.

Enjoy your new van.

Hi
If you dont want to go far there is a site in Callington you turn off the road from Callington to Launston the site is on the right, its Called Compton Park have a look on Google , it looks better on there than what I remember but its handy for you to try your MH for a few days without going to far, they have hook up and limited showers, I stopped there for a night when visiting reli's in the area. Try the CCsite at HILLHEAD It's got a shop, Bar, Buses at the gate into Dartmouth (Ferry, at end of bus ride, to Dartmouth, can recommend the "Rockfish" for Seafood meal) or the other way into Brixham and Paignton .
The site is easy to find, no narrow roads and not too far from Plymouth.
