Hiya. I’m looking to buy some flag pole lights and wondered if this would fit in tv socket and be able to power the lights? From memory it may not but not sure.
Not sure I want to buy mains powered as often off EHU thanks in advance

I have similar flag pole lights and plug them into a socket located in my garage.
Most 12v cigarette sockets have a label on to state their power rating, usually 120 watts (10 amps).
From memory i think some 5mtr strips use about 2 amps (24 watts) But you can check that on any before you buy.

First, sorry to state the obvious but the 'actual TV socket', the one labelled TV, is an aerial socket that won't provide any power at all. The socket labelled 12V 120W is the one to use. The 120W is printed on by the socket manufacturer. I notice there is a '4 AMP MAX' sticker, presumably put on by the motorhome manufacturer. That means the maximum output is 4 x 12 = 48 watts. I would imagine that's enough to run a 5m strip of LEDs, but some of the higher power ones are more than that, so it's best to check. The power rating is sometimes given for the whole 5m strip, or sometimes it is per metre.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Just puzzled me the red plug but on actual tv plug
With the red bit on the end of the plug it fits a standard cigar lighter socket if you remove the red bit (bayonet fitting) it will fit a Hella socket, those are often found on German vans.
