£25 you must be joking

Came of the Cowes Southampton ferry and headed out of town over the Itchen Toll Bridge. Automatic systems flagged a charge of £25 !!!!!!!!!!!
Spoke to operator who claimed it was automatically measured on ‘axle height’ and our little sub 6m Peugeot Boxer motorhome registered as an HGV?
Argued and got a reduction to £1.40 but told not to come over bridge again!
Beware.
