Aire Space; How do you like yours? (1 Viewer)

On a location with clearly marked bays, do you park:

  • Pretty much slap bang in the middle between the marked lines

  • Biased to one side to give more/max room for your habitation door

Currently on an ‘Aire’ in Spain where there is some abysmal positioning, it begs the above question.

Ours is a Chausson. Hab door on rhs. Try to park next to U.K. van then hab doors are on opposite sides.

Not fussed about the issues in the survey but where possible we park so our sliding side door isn't looking directly at someone's habitation door. This usually means parking facing the opposite way to everyone else. If they have all backed in we will drive in nose first. :)

It could be either, depending on whether there are already other MHs parked or not, if so, and they have parked to one side, then we will too, if not then in the middle ...

Always park on the blank side of the adjacent MH for both Privacy and Courtesy, always try and avoid PVC’s , sorry they drive you crazy. they are always in/out and the same in the middle of the night so we know they are not taking in the night air.
I appreciate there are considerate PVC owners but others are a pain, why can’t electric sliding doors be compulsory on PVC/Campers, Almost silent.
Sorry went a bit off topic.

The most disturbance we experience is usually from other MHs, ie coachbuilt or A-class, not PVCs, as some owners seem to be totally obsessed with looking what's in their lockers again, and again ... and again! :cautious:

Depends on the Aire really, if narrow parking bays like a car park, in the middle. If they are a bit wider I'll allow more room for the door side.

Here's how we like ours.
Plenty of space and a little privacy, plus a view of the sea.
Oh, and preferably plenty of sun.

1 it's an aire which is basically an overnight stop so why worry as long as you can get in or out your van.
2 drive in or reverse depending on which side your neighbours hab door is.
3 if you have a LHD one side and RHD toss a coin ???

They are annoying, but not as annoying as those with alarms that beep when they lock and unlock the doors and go off in the middle of the night. We always know where the Brits have parked......

Assuming a view of a harbour, illuminated city or snowy mountain peak is not available, a view of an RMB.
