Hi John just to let you know that the camera arrived this morning. Which isn't bad considering the fire at your end & last Saturday, which is a working day in Spain, & Monday were both bank holidays !

I am not sure yet as I have not received my dash cam yet but from previous reading of posts I don't think you have to format the card, maybe I am talking rubbish but I was under the impression you switch it on input your required settings and bingo away you go.

SPI, all it means is the protocol it susing. Serial Peripheral Interface
If it is coming up it is usually a faulty card.. :-(

Robarb, when you first put a card in the unit it asks you to format it.
Not only does the unit format the card but it puts on the software which allows you to view the video's on your pc

john well i tryed it in the first camera and all ok so tryed it back in this one all ok
that was a 16g class 10 now iv tryed the32g class 10 in the first one then back to this one seem now they both r ok

No emails arrived and checked them each day l have mail washer and all show l guess we are fated to not have blasted communication l shall blame jim for the PM not arriving and causing this bottle neck his socftware has jinked us am l allowed to swear cause we are not in monday cross fingers it is tuesday

The cam may have arrived assuming you sent it hermes. However they left it next door and trying to get hold of the folks on that side is like blasted gold dust. Still not in may be in at some point... never answer their door when in. Once l manage to get hold of it l will update you

Sorry Bob, but I am using a 32Gb card, and everything is "Tickety Boo".
John did mention previously that a 32Gb card may be a bit OTT, however, it works a treat.

It seems the really good quality 32 gig cards MIGHT be ok, but it seems to be luck.
According to the blurb I have a maximum size of 16 gig is recommended

Personally I do not really see the point of a massive card unless you want to record a long journey completely so you can watch it all over again later
