Cornwall

This time of year you'll need to go to a campsite if you want electric.

Doubletree farm is near Eden project if that's of interest, not too expensive. I'd best add I've only stayed here on a CCC weekend meet!

Trenance in Newquay, good walks and nice but busy beaches. Not stayed here but it is the closest to town.

There are plenty of sites, CAMC and CCC as well as lots of commercial ones.

Another recommendation for Doubletrees at Par. Bus service and train to many places on the doorstep.

My all-time favourite is the Caravan Club site Carnon Downs near Truro. There are buses from just outside the site to Truro and Falmouth.

We have used Treyarnon Bay campsite in the past. It’s very close to the beach.

I will second Janine. Sue at https://doubletreesfarm.co.uk is very welcoming. and loads nearby including Eden Project. I was there the weekend before last. Carnon Down is lovely but flipping expensive now. 😥 Lots of CL's about but you need to pick and choose. I also used to stay at Stream Valley formerly Bone Valley at Heamoor north of Penzance but it got taken over by a bigger company and the site fees are now ridiculous so stayed on my brother's driveway when down there last week.

Heligan Caravan & Camping site next to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is an excellent site with EHU - if you can get in, booking essential I think at this time of year.

Not quite Cornwall but the C&CC site at Tavistock has vacancies at the moment as I checked yesterday. It's a nice site but you can't walk directly onto Dartmoor from it but a short drive takes you to a big carpark on the Moor.

Yes. There is a dog walking area at the bottom of the site. The only thing they ask is that you do not put pet bedding in the washing machine or tumble drier. You are quite likely to see other Funsters there so look for the badge.

Porth beach campsite is good, buses and nearby pub, with a beach over the road

If you want quiet and peaceful Cornwall then now until August is not a good time to visit. However, if you avoid the tourist hot spots places like SE Cornwall (Cawsand, Kingsand, Whitsand & Rame Peninsula) are worth looking at. Turn left after crossing the Tamar Bridge or better still catch the Torpoint Ferry from Devonport. Most tourists pass by without knowing what a lovely part of Cornwall they’re missing. The same applies to the Roseland Peninsula - great beaches, Fal Estuary, lovely countryside and St Mawes is a nice antidote to Padstow & St Ives. St Just in Roseland has one of the prettiest locations you’ll see anywhere. If you want a tourist fix, you can always catch the passenger or car ferry to Falmouth. Sorry, I live there so don’t know campsites well, but there are hundreds of them of every type.

Yes I popped into Tavistock site last week, bit out of town but buses stop at the entrance if you put your hand out.👍

Treago Farm near Crantock is one of my favourite campsites anywhere (not just Cornwall), especially if you are travelling with dogs as Cubert Common is next door and lots of nearby beaches you can walk to.

And I live in Cornwall so I’ve done a lot of the sites down here 🤣

Heligan is also great.

Mrs wants to go padstow Rick stein’s restaurant 🥴
Overdraft time
There's 2 or 3 campsites within walking distance of Padstow - whether you can get in is a different matter but you can but ask. :)

Janine what about the expensive place at St Ives??

I think you had words with them??
But still a good spot 😊

There is also a Rick Stein Fish&Chip shop in Padstow.
Surprise her!

You could even eat it inside the motorhome in the carpark in front of the chip shop!

Ayr Holiday Park. Lovely place but arsy owner 😂
We visited Ayr to see if it was a good option for a meet but weren't overly impressed, looked at the rugby club as it's sometimes used for rallies & that wasn't as special as it could be. Hoping that award winning Polmanter Touring Park is as good as the reviews say as, out of the main season, we do love St Ives 🤞

Hi , mrs asking me to go to Cornwall ,
Can you tell me any place with hook up facilities or campsites
please and any recommendations etc
Appreciate your help ✅
Nice basic CL at fowey and the closest your to the town ,used it a couple of years ago & it’s metered ehu , 15min walk to town , some of it on country road though,
Fowey is lovely
plenty of eating / drinking
hire a small boat for an hour trip at the harbour not that expensive. Lovely views.
CL May be booked up ? But worth a call .

We are leaving Trewethett Farm camc site (Tintagel) tomorrow to go to Treamble camc site for 4 days then off to Looe camc for 4 days then Black Knowle camc for 3 days then Winchester camc site for 2 days. Not all Cornwall but you get the idea.
May I recommend the no electric economy grass site at Trwethett Farm for fabulous views, if you can get one of the top bluff sites.

Tintagel has a great stop The King Arthur's Car Park on your way to Cornwall
Yes we looked at that but I wanted the sea views and to be halfway between Tintagel and Boscastle
Great choice though for a cheap aire is the car park you mentioned
