For the last few days, I have been on the C&CC site at Salisbury which has the most fabulous views across to the old hillfort.

The occupants of the caravan opposite however are sun-worshippers so have been sitting outside facing the sun and staring at me lounging in my van. A couple of strategically placed cushions have fixed it temporarily without making a statement.

I have curtains and external silver screens but it would be nice to have something that would only block out halfway up the windscreen so I can still see out.

Any ideas? (preferably something that I can purchase in town and fit in the field, so to speak.)

I have a Remis? Blind that pulls up from the bottom+ a Taylormade silver screen with the above post facility.

I think I have all situations covered?

You'll have to get some net curtains! 🤣

Why not move to another pitch.

Luckily Mum is a wizard with needle and thread or sewing machines.

She cut our front screen protector and sewed in a zip so we can unzip the top half and let it flop down - effectively only covering the bottom half of the screen.

Alternatively get an RV where you are so much higher people can't see in without a step :giggle:

They would just wave back! They are really nice people but every time I stand up, I know they are watching me. 🙁
Probably think it's Joan Baez on vacation 😉👍

It’s not just this site - sometimes I feel like I am in a goldfish bowl 🤷‍♀️
I really dislike that feeling. If you find a fabric shop, you could get some 'voile' (pronounced like foil but with a V). It's a very fine 'mesh' and should enable you still to see out.
I guess you're quite private so flashing, as suggested by others, might embarrass you more than them. However that's what an ex did when a neighbour was watching her bedroom window. He wasn't just standing there either. However she must've scared him coz he never tried to watch her after that.

Seriously, as you have a silver screen, can't you fold it in half with the top down and trap it in the doors and under your wipers stopped in the upright position.

Alternatively, I have a couple of cheap expandable curtain poles that, when its cold, I put across the van for drigy socks etc. that, with the help of a light curtain, would go across the windscreen and serve the same purpose.

My VW has a large blanket type sheet between the cab and rear sections of the camper.
This is held in place by large push on button pop rivet connectors, why not, for future use, drill and put a couple of these each side of the windscreen? 👍

I remember in our tugging days on a campsite in Italy there was a German caravan opposite us blinds never drawn and the lady was always naked. It would have been rude not to look. 🤣
Used to get that a lot in Sweden, naked people wandering from the Sauna back to their vans or to plunge into the lake.

Strange what one can get used to? 🤔

There was a thread on MHF a while ago about screens that you could see out of but not in though . Can’t remember what they were called to search for it though sorry.

Going by the photo, your "lovely view" appears to have been blocked out anyway by other distractions. Might as well just draw those curtains.

I wonder how much they can see. Quite possibly very little.

(It may be that they are looking in your general direction but can't see much inside the van. Which may explain behaviour that could otherwise seem a bit rude.)
