Cheers for that Anthony OysterTech. Useful to know that two of the most commonly used and unchanged frequencies are being used...

Hi Anthony OysterTech. I've just checked the LyngSat website listings and 11265V and 11307H are not shown. The other two you mention are listed.

See https://www.lyngsat.com/Astra-2E-2F-2G.html
Frequencies do not have to be exact, which is why there can be differences between listings and what people use or say.
They have a very small "range" that can be used and still pick up channels...
So for example, for 11265 you can probably scan between 11260 to 11270 and be fine, before it starts to go to the next frequency.

Same goes for the Symbol rate also, some FTA receiver when scanning in NIT / Network search mode pick up channels on say SR of 27500, and then again on 27499 for example..

All depends on the frequencies the system is running Lanerboy.
For example on an Oyster the failed frequency is not used any more however it was until 2015 so any systems running old software may require an update of some sort.
Other than Teleco's mass problem there are reports on this thread from users of Snipe and Maxview saying they have had trouble locking on albeit only a few.
Basically any system looking for 11895 V as a primary lock frequency will no longer be able to locate Astra 2 so will need updating.

Can I ask, when installing software do you have to have cable from laptop to tele or is there a point in the teleco system on the wall. Confused.

Also how do you find which teleco system to install, can't find our manual anywhere. So don't know which system we are.

You have to plug the cable into the teleco control box

There should be a sticker on top of your control box mine is the easyskew system

You can see from the picture the cable needs to go into the port marked usb on the box

Can this be updated using a MacBook or must it be a Windows based system.

Some of us don't own laptops and my friend has MacBook, so basically Im stuck with a lump of metal on my roof which is useless

Not sure where this box is. I will have to have a look in the morning. Thank you anyway. I think it might be behind some casing that we have to remove. Thank you anyway.

Just found our box behind a false panel above the fridge. Very hard to get to. Will give it a go tomorrow. Can't see the name yet.

That looks like it's going to be hard work, try taking a photo with your phone to see if there is a label on the end of it, failing this there will be a serial number on the plate where the dish is on the roof

Also you may need some help as you need to hold down a tiny black button on the end of the box whilst turning the dish on at the same time as holding the button down so how far away is your on off switch compared to your control box

You can just make out the small black button in my picture with the arrow going to it

Looks like we are going to have fun tomorrow. Failing that we are going back to dealer as its new and under warranty, planning on Europe in 3 weeks though. Hope we get it sorted in time.

It's not hard to do once you have

Found which system you have
Download the correct file to laptop
Connect cable into sat box and laptop
Get someone to turn dish on whilst you hold the button in for a few seconds
Download file to sat box

It looks the same as mine but you need to be sure, if you try and load the wrong programme it could lock your system out.

Is there any writting on the dish, is it twin lnb

You may need the serial number off the plate and ring teleco with this to be sure, the number should look like this

Thank you all very much for all this information. I thought mine wasn't locking on because of the trees.

Just managed to update the software after several attempts.

Thank you all once again. All up and running thanks to the knowledge and information from Funsters.

This is what is only the satellite dish. Do you think it's the flat sat easy update we need?

What is on the dish face, they normally have stickers on saying what model it is. From the LNB picture it looks like a non skew Flatsat system.

Can't see anything on the dish. A Dethleff sticker is over it. Sent S/N number to teleco so hopefully get make from them.

Just been and checked mine and no signal either.
If I can borrow a laptop off one of my friends is it easy enough to update by a non techno guy ?
