Froli Bed System

Has anyone used the Froli Bed System I am thinking of using it under a mattress and also under a seat and would be interested to hear of any views/experiences.

Used it in a boat we had between a solid base and a pathetic 50mm thick mattress.
Expensive but quite effective.
You can put softer units in for your shoulders as well as using links to make it stiffer.
You can also alter the pitch between each segment.
So it's quite tunable.
If I remember correctly it is an average of about 40mm thick.

No use on a slatted base.

It’s made a massive improvement to the comfort of the bed in our Burstner 680, now as comfortable as our bed at home.

Yes very good I fitted it in my last van, current van has Hymer's own version, not quite as good.

I installed these on my Rapido french, bed on the slats and fixed it to the slats with cable ties.
I have altered the colours around so the soft ones (light blue I think) where my shoulder and hips are so I don't get back ache. My wife has a different layout on her side as she likes firmer support.
I think they are great, nice soft sleeping, if but a little expensive, but then again what price comfort.
My fiend who has a N+B has these as well and he likes the comfort given.
One slight issue if you have a lift up bed, is it raised the mattress obviously, but this means the bed is heavier to lift up for two reasons, 1-the weight of the additional plastic (not much though), 2-The mattress has to move slightly away from the hinged site others the mattress will get crushed.

Hope this helps you thought processes, I would buy again if needed, but it easily removes from one M/H to another and be reconfigured.

We fitted the system to our two slatted single beds in the summer and it made a huge improvement to our sleeps. No more sore hips. Bliss. They do raise the mattresses a bit so you get a peep of grey and blue sometimes but that's no problem. One benefit that hasn't been mentioned yet is that when you change your van you transfer the system to your new van with no costs involved.

Several different products available all along similar lines. The price point compared to Froli seems good.

We did look at the Dry Mat type options but always mixed reviews so went for Froli.

Our B544 has it, Hymer version maybe? Anyway it’s bloody marvellous, best bed ever, including at home.
How such a thin piece of foam with these ‘Cauliflower holders’ can be so comfortable is beyond me.
They look like the Cauliflower harvesting machine rests.

I bought them to use on a boat; used for about six months before selling them and doing what I should have done in the first place. Went out and purchased a better quality mattress.

I'm in Germany at the moment, but we fitted a froli system to the slatted bed in our last Hymer and it made a huge difference. Our current van has Hymer"s own system fitted, so I'll be selling the ones we had in the previous van. I can't be precise as to what it consists of, at the moment, but there's enough to fit two single beds or a double (with quite a bit left over.) As described above, there are different springs so you can adjust it to suit your shoulders, back etc
If you're interested, and not in a hurry, I'll be home at the end of the first week in Oct, and could give precise details then.

Froli arrived and fitted today. Excellent. Made a huge difference, very comfortable and I think probably cheaper than new foam. Thanks all for your replies

Might be interested in your froli kit. I had not thought about fitting in place of slats and not sure it would work in my Carthago but it has 2 singles. When you get home perhaps you could get in touch if you are still thinking of selling.
