Coffee machine recommendedations (1 Viewer)

Need some advice from coffee machine lovers. I have a Delongi with frother but it's playing up after many hard years of use. I would ideally like a pod machine that I can carry in the van.
Could any of you coffee lovers recommend a machine.

We use a tassimo both at home and in the MH. I am certainly no aficionado, so it does a fine job as far as I need. Hot chocolate is good from it as well. Very quick so won’t take too much out of batteries if you are off grid.

We use a Nespresso Inissia (Krups) in the van, reasonably small and the coffee's reasonable if you buy good quality pods. We also have a Bialetti which makes pretty good coffee.

We use a Nespresso machine and pods . We don’t bother taking the milk frother.

So far we've also found Nespresso in Spain, France and Germany. So it travels well.

Personally though, we don't have the space and we're often off hookup. We use a Bialetti on the gas hob and some pre-ground coffee.

It might depend on what type of coffee you like, I use a nespresso machine for latte after heating milk in the microwave and frothing with a battery whisk, on a morning I like a mug of black coffee and find the “Aeropress” the best and it only needs a kettle on the gas.

I use a small Krupps machine. It looks identical to this one and runs fine off a 1500W inverter. They do a separate milk frother but I don't need one. I like the Lungo pods which make a larger cup but don't expect to find them easily outside the UK.

Funny enough I purchased another tassimo today so I can have one in the MH

Depends what coffee you like, I only have americano and don’t take milk so the tassimo is perfect, not sure how much I would enjoy the ones with milk pods.

The tassimo happy is one of the smallest and currently on offer for £39.99 at a lot of places.

Proper job. Nothing comes near for Cappuccino. The noise gets the taste buds primed.

The mickey mouse pod things just squirt a load of chemicals into a cup.

PS: we do have one of these in MH but nowhere near as good as the real thing....

When our 10 year old Delongi developed a steam leak I thought it was scrap but was relieved to find that all spares were available online so I repaired it.

I have a Nespresso Inissia which was given to me and which I rarely use. I find the coffee isn’t really hot enough.

I also have an Ikea stove top pot (Radig) which costs £20. It is stainless so no Alzheimer’s link. It is wonderful and my go to machine.

Nespresso pods contain ground coffee and nothing else. The machines extract the coffee at 15 bar, just like a real espresso machine. It's not as good as grinding the beans and using a real espresso machine, but for use in a motorhome it's not bad.

Fair enough about the coffee, it was the shocking attempt at the milk side that I found unacceptable for cappuccino.

The cow machine ( above ) is very clever in the way the steam generated first creates the coffee then the rest of it makes a go of frothing the milk. It even sounds good. I don't know if it's better froth than a capsule but I do know it's nothing but pure milk.

Another Nespresso user - Krups Pixie. I like it strong so make a double with 2 capsules of Kazaar, which we take with us from home. (Nespresso shops are my idea of hell.) For breakfast cappuccino, I froth milk in an Aldi electric frother.
Not as good as home Gaggia Classic, but I get enough grief about the mess of that and grinding beans at home, I’d never get away with it in the van.

Tassimo for me. I am the only one who drinks coffee and I only drink Kenco Americano which I shop around for. Co-op had it for £7 for two packs of 16 pods so I stock up.

During our trip around Italy a few years ago we discovered that most coffee bars usef Lavazza coffe and we got used to it. So we have a Lavazza pod machine for homr, which was on offer at John Lewis a while ago.

In the motorhome we use an Italian stove top mocha pot with Lavazza ground coffee because we are often not on EHU.

We have tried various coffee options in the van but now simply use coffee filter papers inside a plastic coffee cup filter that fits over the cup.

No rinsing of coffee grinds which I hate in the van just simply put the coffee grinds in the paper in the bin.

At home we have a Nespresso machine and use their capsules which they obligingly will recycle (allegedly). I take a bag of used capsules to my local collect + shop and they are returned for recycling free of charge .
