Hi all!
Does anyone know where the fuse is for the underbed (drop-down) lights and the bathroom light please?
Checked the electrobloc and the ADL box. All the fuses are ok. Are there any others hiding anywhere?

It starts with a small job.......

On a Merc there are some Hymer ones under the right hand seat bottom row at front. Hang by your ankles down the seat side on an A class, van cab, very easy

Thanks Gwaygway. I will suspend himself in said position to check!

Odd that 2 points have failed together, at least both on the lighting circuit

Have you done any mods?

Have the lights suddenly failed?

Hope its not mice o_O but I would expect a fuse to go if a wire was chewed

good luck

We decided we would like some pretty strip lights in blue underneath the drop down bed, so that when we are watching telly we could have a blue glow! So in prep for that, himself found the wires that were already there for the existing downlighters, intending to add a switch and bobs yer uncle. Anyway, to cut a long story short cos I'm getting cramp, he fused everything and now we have no lights over the cab seats, no pretty blue glow and no light in the bathroom.
Himself has searched both areas that hold fuses, but none seem to be the appropriate one and hence my question.

OK what chassis is your Hymer on?

I am confused by why both those 2 lights would fail, the lights under the drop down bed could well have been fed from the cab end of things rather than the electro bloc, but that wouldn't apply to the loo light

All the lights on the passenger side of the van apart from the ceiling lights don't work because he has blown the fuse. They must all be on the same circuit.
Our chassis is a Fiat Ducato.
We have no idea where the fuse is that controls that circuit and was asking for help to locate it.

OK, so I now know your other half has a skill level equal to mine when it comes to technical

How has he checked the fuses in the electro bloc? It is really hard to do by sight alone and even with a multi meter they need to be removed to check

I would have expected the manual to say which fuse you were looking for, but being lighting it will be one of the lower rated ones

I think the fuse will be in the EB and is as yet undiscovered (y):)

I'm guessing a 10amp fuse in either 'kreis 1' or 'kreis 2' on the electroblock.
Worth changing the fuses as blown ones are not always obvious to see...

He says he's taken then all out and looked at them. But I will ensure that he checks them again tomorrow and report back. Thanks for all your help!

AHHH! you have the A class then, Mine is narrower than yours so it might be easier these damn thing are the same as the useless left hand 'drivers door' The cab variety is designed as a MB van was, with easy access. I cannot comment on FARTs though. probably the same somewhere you cannot get to . You hymer handbook should give the location of the habitation area fuses on the chassis wiring, mine are specifically marked down as body builders options.

I don't know the age of your van but I have an "A class" 06 Hymer, there are two fuse boxes in my dashboard, low down on each side of the van.
Sorry I can't help you more, or read German (n)

Normal Hymer wiring is the awning light and the lights around the roof are fed from a fuse which is in a separate fuse block near the EBL same fuse that feeds the heating I think. All the other lighting is fed from one of the EBL fuses. Should be able to see which one on the EBL wiring diagram.
As said you can't always tell if a fuse is blown by looking at it you need to check with a meter.

We had an interesting experience last night, spending a few days up north as we have just had air fitted to the van.
Wilding on the York/Cumbria moors, sitting watching TV sundenly plunged into total darkness. Absolutely nothing electrical working lights, TV, heating, fridge all dead.

After a short panic got down to sorting it out, volts ok on BMV so had to be something to do with Elektroblock.
5 minutes later found the problem, main 50 amp maxi blade fuse poped out of fuse holder. Took dam site longer to get it back in it's not very accessable, when you have 3 batteries.
I now have the light.:D

Perfect when you have LHD.:ROFLMAO:

Another oddity on ours has turned out to be a lucky design feature

Ours is RHD but with a RHS drivers door, never seen another like it, must have been a factory option though I presume (we bought it second hand)

We have had easy access to a fuse and more importantly the D+ relay on our Mercedes chassis :)(y)

We have RHD and RHD driver's door too. We also think it's odd! Came to the conclusion it was s continental body on a British chassis. Don't use the driver's door, we use the well for storage!

The doors on an A Class is all part of the converters body nothing to do with the chassis.

They arrive at the converters like this, this one has the Fiat chassis if having an Al-Ko chassis stops behind the cab and they are delivered with 2 cabs bolted together back to back.

Thank you all. It was on the electrobloc. So we have now got working lights and some really great blue strip LED lights which look good! Himself says he is now a fully qualified electrician. (Till something else goes wrong!!):ROFLMAO:

Kreis = Circuit in German. So, on the EBL it refers to circuit 1 and circuit 2. On my 2003 vintage Star-line, the cab lights are on kreis 2.
