Heki rooflight rubbers (1 Viewer)

Hi all, I'm sure this has been addressed before in the forums, but a search doesn't show anything.
So the question is, what's the suggested lubricant that can be applied to the Heki or any rooflight rubbers to avoid cracking & to keep them flexible. I seem to recall that in the previous responces to this question (wherever it is) was not to use Vaseline. Olive oil is recommended for the rubber on the Thetford Cassette sluice valve, so maybe that would be okay for the Heki rubbers as well.

I always use silicon grease.

From Halfords etc.
I bought some for the Thetford toilet seals
but have used it on all my window/ door rubber seals etc.

Talcum powder is good too !

lennyhb, Do you have a product name for the grease? From what I can find out, the grease shouldn't be petroleum based & all the usual outlets near me only have the spray.

I already have the Silicone spray, but the application doesn't last very long.

I use Ambersil Greasil 4000, it's pure silicon. It's over a year since I last applied it to mine and they are sill not sticking, you get a bit of a greasy blackish mark on the plastic where the seal makes contact but it's better than tearing the seal which has happened in the past.

Car accessory shops often stock it I think it's about 6 quid a tube.
