Have been informed by Auto Sleeper that they cannot fit a tow bar to my A/S Sigma due to the extended chassis.!!
Looking at the Caravan Club Magazine I noted Witter is advertising towbars etc.
Anyone have any comments on this long established company?

Most motorhome tow bars are bespoke made. However if Auto Sleeper say you can't fit one, they don't mean they don't supply one. I think they mean you should not fit one as they believe the chassis not suitable.

hi if they don't recommend it check the weight plates and see what the train weight is and work out if its going to be worth trying to get one fitted as they may have not given any towing weight capabilities to the van.:thumb:

Since 2005
you will get one made but the original rear chassis extensions arent up to the job so it will need those rebuilding to cope with the towbar stresses.

some converters use nothing more than heavy angle iron to extend the chassis if the weight isnt too great.

ring round a few towbar makers and enquire about the extra work required.

Watling are one company that cater for autosleeper.

Armitage strengthened our rear out riggers and then tested and plated the tow bar they fitted to 100kg nose weight.
