Celebrity 5 Go Motorhoming- Channel 5

Watched it as I had nothing else to do. Better than I expected, the cynic in me expected a comedy of errors but generally I think it was quite fair to motorhoming. Yes, it's all a set-up of course otherwise it wouldn't be TV. And I don't suppose Marquis will come out of it badly either (well apart from fixing a few breakages).
Might watch it again, depends on how bored I am.

These programmes always make me laugh. Like the adventure types who are doing a very dangerous manoeuvre that's not been done before.....except the cameraman and sound recordist of course.

I would watch it again, as I did find it amusing and they "seem" to be getting on ok. Time will tell, as the novelty wears off the cracks might appear.
Even a couple setting off for the first time in a mh , could be sorely tempted to inflict injury to one another, either verbally or physically or a combination of the two

Totally agree with you. As Mr Trump would say It's so fake. I think the worst is Grills (spelling). Watched one programme years ago and never again.Heck he was even caught out staying in a luxury hotel when he was supposed to be camping in the wilderness.

I found it quite enjoyable compared to many programmes on TV no foul language etc reminds me of some years ago when we left the children with my Mother-in-law Don and I spent the first night (1982) in our new Travelhome S in a car park overlooking the sea near Whitley bay never slept a wink BECAUSE the buoy had a bell on it couldn't even make a cuppa the water tap didn't work and we hadn't a clue where the fuse was it was Saturday night (everywhere shut on Sundays those days) first time ever I couldn't wait to get back to my Mother-in-laws not to see the kids just dying for a drink ! (couldn't afford wine back then) :crying1: :crying1: :crying1:

Saw the first episode and it was OK if you've got a spare 45 minutes. They went to the Gower Peninsula and Fishguard both of which we haven't been to and nw hope to go to someday so it was worth watching.

Episode One is repeated tonight on My5, Sky Channel 175, at 9pm tonight.

Interesting to know if Lesley Joseph still has her C1 on licence as the Mobilvetta is very easy to go over 3.5 t. We have one and there is very little payload but it is a nice MH.

I watched it and thought, what a bunch of buffoons.. i only watched as others here for the scenery..

Is that little old camp one the one from the crankies who used to shout "fan doby dosie" or something..
Whats the point sleeping in a yurt.. when you have splendid motorhomes to kip in.. little one krankie said he was claustraphobic.. was he sleeping in pan drawer..?
Will watch it tonight with baited breath and screwdriver to stick in my eye if it gets over exciting..

I'm glad that all the critics that pulled this lot to pieces started out their motorhome careers as" experienced" campers we know it was all set but even so they didn't make that many stupid mistakes, considering, however, as said there is always the off button. but then it would spoil all the fun for the keyboard warriors out there....just sayin....I'll be watchin it cos even after caravanning/mohoming I still don't consider myself perfect.

Nor do i..but saying you don't want to sleep in one with other people is a tad cringe worthy.

I assume they did some research before they signed up to do the program..

I got the feeling that they didn't really know what they had signed up to - although that too was probably staged.

Might look at it again tonight; wifey's going out and I've just finished a book. Plus I just discovered 3 bottles of finest malt hidden in the back of our drinks storage rack in the garage............:drink:

I've been looking forward to tonight's episode (call me what you like) I was finding it quite good last week, but when one of them ran down the road saying 'look we've lost an ear ring'
It just gave me such a fit of the giggles, the tears ran down my face, I'm sure this is what the program makers wanted, it may even be staged, who cares, after years of soaps, gardens and baking, its a refreshing change.

I did this about 10 years ago in our first van, a Pilote Galaxy something :)

We were tourists at Lands End (way before we lived here) in the middle of Summer and directed to park at the bottom of this field. When we returned the chassis was resting on the grass.

Must have been 10 people and a tractor trying to get us out - hugely embarrassing.

Never did it again :)

Well number two worked, for me, they've captured the feel of new to motorhoming pretty well and in a nice light hearted way.

If those en-route thumps and bangs are genuine there's quite a bill for someone.
