Can I get a plug for this?

Can I get a plug for this 12v socket and what sort of load can I put on it? Cab is a Hymer 680, 2001 vintage and the sockets are all over the hab area.

You can get those plugs in most caravan spares places, it's a Clipsal W4 2 pin plug.
Can't help with the load though.

Yes you can, as for load we run anything we have that's 12 volt.

as mentioned, they are bog standard 10amp 12v clipsal sockets, as found in nearly all caravans. most devices and phone chargers come with a cigar plug though. the answer is to buy a multiway cigar plug adaptor as common as a car accessory and fit a clipsal plug on that. it will easily handle 3 or 4 phone chargers or a 12v tv. dont try using them for even small inverters though

Not fitted originally by Hymer by the way - they must have been added by a UK owner. The originals would have been DIN (Hella) plugs.

Plugs into the square 2 pin socket in a caravan, to convert it to a cigar lighter type socket.
2 pin plug linked to a cigar socket.
12V 2A

If it were me, I'd change the sockets to 12v CBE and for the one shown, a combined 12v / TV socket.. (if still required) far neater and more useful than these old fashioned bulky caravan sockets.. just my view..

They are actually a 2 pin American mains socket as said by others this one is made by Clipsal and marked by W4, they were a standard fit in quite a few British caravans in the late 80's early 90's.

Postage is the reason, since the Royal Mail restructured their prices a couple of years ago anything that will not go as a large letter gets very expensive to post, for me it costs the same post items weighing 50 gms as it does for 20 kg. Makes posting low cost items uneconomic.

The one I have in front of me states 125v 15A. Just make sure the wiring feeding the socket is up to supplying 15amps or whatever load you want to take.

It would only be a TV so only about 2amps

Yesss.. The sockets are rated at 10 amps, but the wiring to it might well be only 4 amp rated !
