Well we have hummed and hared should we go to Scotland for September and so that was the plan, but with motorhomes plans change, and after taking the van up to Mochdre to get a new Electroblock, think the electrics in Morocco seen paid to ours, while it was been sorted we went into Rhos-on-Sea, what a lovely place and spent a pleasant couple of hours pottering around.

That got us thinking why not spend September pottering around Wales and what is on our own doorstep but so often gets ignored, so the plan has changed starting Wednesday with a few days at Shell Island then following the Hymers nose to see what we can find, will post some pictures see if we can match Scotland.

We were told a couple of years ago that St Fagan's in Cardiff is well worth a visit so when we discovered that the MCC has a meet there at the end of September we decided we would go. Never been to south Wales before.

    Hi Carol,
Don't be offended but you can use your bus pass in Wales to get about locally whilst parked up(y)

Cycling the trail beside the Mawddach Estuary from Barmouth towards Dolgellau takes some beating.

Also, the coastal path from Borth-y-gest round to Black Rock Sands (best around low tide) is lovely, but don't tell anyone else.

As an afterthought, if you like your music on CD or vinyl don't whatever you do miss a visit to Cob Records at Porthmadog, opposite the Ffestiniog Steam Railway station. If Cob Records haven't got it, it probably wasn't recorded.

And don't forget, overnighting for one night in seven is welcome in Powys Council Car Parks (for minimal cost), so if your near Brecon there are at least two, one right alongside the river, Hay on Wye for browsing and books and so on.

Neil (1manandhisDoblo) recently alerted me to the fact that Powys Council have recently changed their web site. It no longer specifies which car parks may be used overnight, though it does show which may be used by all vehicles and not just cars. I've asked them to reinstate the information.

I was assuming they'd cycle back again bungy - our preferred starting and finishing point is the seaside. :)
