Now that it's almost reddy for the MOT I have a conundrum should I just bite the just book it in at my usual garage for the MOT or book it locally
It's a bit of a Gray area
220 miles to the MOT station
Thing I am thinking is if there is sumthing that needs doing I can do it at home I don't see any thing it could fall on but you never know
Brakes steering lights body work
All seem to be fine
Can any one enliten me on the rules regarding this matter

You's gotta have a vin plate for the Mot simples
the info "Chassis No weights etc on it should match the vehicle it's fitted too
engine No not required but useful if you know it"

it design and appearance is your choice but best advice stick to a similar known design such as the pic
your choice to drive to a booked test 200+ miles away may raise plods eyebrow but it ran out on yer holls didnt it?
Why not print one and clear tape over it

A few months ago, I drove the RV (without MOT) 180 miles to the test centre I normally use.
It was a calculated risk, hoping that I wouldn't be stopped :)
The MOT tester did raise an eyebrow when I told him but it was definitely worth it.
Passed with no advisories! (y)

Just a thought DOES YOUR INSURER know of your modifications
Before you hit the Queens highway
Just in case plod wants a look

Good job by the way

I have informed the insurers that I changed the engine
And there will be a retrospective premium increase I am sure

Had a bit of a compromise with the fuel filter owing to the fitting of a Inter cooler radiator I lost the space for it to be fitted I could have done away with the spare tyre but I like to carry a spare
So the only place I could fit it was on the are box for the heater

Was thinking new exhaust but I might just try to repair it the rest of it is in farly good condition
If the worst comes to the worst I will buy a new system
Bit of a gap to fill
I will put sum 1.6mm pleat on the inside bent to the profile of the exhaust pipe to sleeve it and give me sumthing to weld to

Don't you feel a prat!

At our age you hit the ground before you know it.....and too slow to stop any damage

I felt a prat but got lucky .............get well soon(y)(y)
