One reason why it's important to put water out for birds in winter...
I don't think ANY other bird gets stuck into a bath like a blackbird!

Strategically sited (3 baths) our Blackbirds save us the job of watering some of the flower beds in summer, that's when they're not fighting each other the dopes!:D

is it a special kind
No movan, just some local mongrel I think (!) They're so comfortable with the climate here that they flower nearly all year round. Camellias are a bit like weeds, like buddleia, fuschia, montbretia etc.
It's quite difficult to keep them under control
