Finally, after a lot of messing about and having to spend dosh which we weren't expecting to, the day has come when we've finally found out we've been successful ...

I am therefore proud to announce that we are now the delighted owners of a bouncing 3850kg Carthago 'baby boy' (he's no longer 3700kg on the DVLA site).

?

Thats fab, how long did DVLA take to change record and send log book back out?

One of the few advantages of living on the Isle of Man, we simply drive up to the highway board with the paperwork have a chat with the nice lady at the counter and get the new log book etc. Usually takes under 15 minutes, and of course it's free.

all you need now is a nice tidy smart car as a toad
Oh no.....that going to be an whole new chapter ..........book::bigsmile:
Nah, it's gonna be a very small pamphlet ✍ ... we will NOT be towing a car, never ever ... done it in the past with classic cars and have no wish to do it again. :xeek: ... now as for a nice tidy Smart car itself ... ?

NO ... I SHALL RESIST TEMPTATION (plus I'm skint!). :pray2:

Bet you haven't got your new V5 with you to be legal. :xrofl:
No we haven't got the V5C as its only just been amended on the DVLA site today so it won't even have arrived at home yet and seeing as we've just arrived in Spain I ain't going back home for it!

Out of interest did DVLA manage to get the MAM correct?
Dunno ... I did send a covering letter asking them to alter both parts of the V5C and we can ring and the DVLA will email us a copy of it if we want but don't really feel like spending 30 minutes or so on 'hold' being told "Your call is important to us" so will probably just wait until we get home so as not to spoil 'the surprise'!

Thats fab, how long did DVLA take to change record and send log book back out?
I sent it to the DVLA first class signed for on Friday 22nd November so the earliest they'd have even looked at it would have been 25th November, so that's just over 2 weeks, not bad service at all!
