I was trying to update the software in my head unit so that I could connect my phone to it using Android Auto. Unfortunately, the Xzent website is German (as are the update instructions) and not secure so after many attempts to update the unit, I ended up with a very colourful 'brick' in my dashboard!
Finally after much contact with their Technical Support department, I finally managed to complete the update. If you use the attached file, it should make the process a little easier for anyone wanting to attempt this
