Does anyone use a pair of wrap around bifocal sunglasses?

I only want them for driving, so I need long distance and slightly-longer-than-arms-length reading (for dashboard/satnav). My ordinary glasses are great, but during the summer months I get eye irritations in bright sunshine and wrap around sunnies really help with that.

I see them on some of these "direct" online shops, but wondered if anyone had any actual experience with them. One concern is that the bifocal lense isn't a good match for the wrap around frame style, especially on the periphery.

Have a look at Optilabs, we both have high prescriptions and managed to get sunglasses from them. If you phone and tell them your prescription they will recommend frame, you can have 3 frames sent at a time to try free of charge. I have a pair of cycling glasses from them too and all excellent.

Hubby has a pair of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CSD57G9/?tag=mhf04-21 .... but he hardly uses them as he says he can see the speedo well enough without them and relies on me to tell him where to go  There's a picture in the reviews that shows the location of the reading part of the lenses pretty accurately if that helps? They're cheap enough though to try them to see if they work for you if they have an option in your prescription?

Problem with these is (as far as I can see) you can only set one lense. The bifocal is misleading because it just means the top part is straight through (no lense). I need distance & close-ish reading. Shame, they're a great price :)

I need proper wrap around to reduce the irritation and be truely comfortable.

Kevin bought proper cycling wrap around varifiocals from Asda. Not cheap but he is very happy with them.

Other than that what about sunglasses that fit over your own glasses. I have a pair in the car. Around £15 - £20) from Amazon. Worth a try?

I shall check that out, thanks!

I saw those - have you tried them? They look a bit clumsy and uncomfortable, but I've never seen a pair in the flesh.

I have used optilabs for cycling and general prescription sunglasses and they are very good.
