A better petition would be for each local authority to have to provide the facilities ....

I am surprised that the auto cleaning stations for w.c. cassettes don't seem to be more prevalent in the UK. At £2 a time via credit card I'm sure they would get the investment back

What next?

Require them by law to provide Laundry facilities, Childrens' Playgrounds, Amusement Arcades?

All for minority groups?

Ridiculous and selfish.

I shall not be signing.
Jeeso what's that rant in aid of?

There's a big big difference between putting in an extra drain and a metered tap for water when the facilities are already there . Many already do have laundry and children's playgrounds and quite a few motorway ones have arcades.

By all means shoot yourself in the foot by not signing but the rant is stupid and unnecessary.

Sorry, but I disagree with it.

If they were compelled, the service would come with a charge and doubt that will be cheap!

If it is not attended and supervised, I don't want to imagine the mess!
Why?

If local authorities really want to reduce the likely hood of waste being dumped then its a pretty good idea. And one of the best places to have them too . A couple of quid for water will hardly break the bank. Too expensive then simply don't use them .

A weird line to include IMHO...using the word 'resort' pretty much blames anyone else bar the actual moron dumping their black/grey waste. I'd have thought that if motorway services could make a few quid out of it, they'd do it without having the Govt mandating it. As someone else has suggested, far better to persuade councils up and down the land to provide a (paid for) service.
Without proper disposal points, some travellers resort to dumping toilet or grey water waste in hedgerows, lay-bys or drains, harming the environment and public health.

Campra has been trying to persuade councils for nearly a decade now . Hasn't really worked .

I don't get why folk have such a resistance to sign a petition that can only provide a better service .

I can only sign up for something I believe in, and I don't agree with this.

I gave some reasons but other posters have given better;

If it was a commercial winner, the organisers would be doing it.

I doubt if I would use it, partially because I don't need to, even though I'm a Freedom Camper, I use alternate, legal and nature friendly resources.

Also I think the areas will be abused and I wouldn't want to venture near them.

Serial waste dumpers would continue to dump where they do at their convenience.

There are more valuable resources needed, doctors, dentist, hospitals that Government need to concentrate on. Something required by almost everyone.

How about a petition to reduce the price of fuel at Motorway service stations?
30p a litre mark up above other providers.
However supply and demand and being a private business allow it, so a petition would be pointless.
Local councils cannot afford to fix our roads so are unlikely to want to add extra costs for us to service our motorhomes.
Whilst it would be great for all these things to be provided there are far too many minorities getting tax payer funding.
If it is commercially viable someone would already be providing the facilities.

I think it’s a complete waste of time. Parliament has got more important things to debate than providing facilities for a small minority. It’s never going to happen. Some service stations don’t event have motorhome parking.

CAMC could do similar, £2 to empty bog and fill with water.
In your dreams. They seem to have specifically made the MHSP located in the middle of the site to make it inaccessible to passing trade. Imagine the furore over the 'constant traffic'.

I am surprised at you Tam wanting a government to legislate for MH facilities to stop illegal dumping.

Do you also support the Greek government's ban on widcamping?

If a particular MSA wants to add any of those facilities, I am not against that, but I do not believe it should be compulsory under their licence to operate the site. If it is only applied rto MSAs there would not be many in Scotland, and none in Dorset and Norfolk, because they have no M/Ways.

I don’t think this has legs, business need government to get off their backs not add to the burden. If waste points were maintained in the same disgusting state as many service station toilets it’s unlikely most would want to use them anyway. Also, many garage forecourts couldn’t cope with a large MH (or three) holding other motorists up while they faff about taking on 100l of water etc!
Well intentioned, but ridiculous!

With due respect, you don’t live in UK now and Europe has much more extensive facilities for Motorhomers than UK so why not try and get at least a conversation around the subject in Parliament.
