May I just ask if anyone is coming down to or past Camping Mar Menor Murcia could they bring a survivor parcel of Worcestershire sauce?

As some of you may know, Martin Mr Mousy has come off his bike and broken his shoulder.

We are staying put until he heals and have everything to hand except Worcestershire sauce! Pathetic I know but I’ve been enjoying a Virgin Mary..

Your kindness could be rewarded by joining me.

If your able to travel on your bike, and confident to do so, there is an Iceland Supermarket (franchise) not too far away on the main N332 road at San Javier.

For the safest cycle route from you I would ride up past the airbase to Santiago de la Ribera and then down through the quieter roads up to the town centre. I think there may now be a lot of cycle paths.

If anywhere I think this would be your most likely place to find it. Here is a screen shot showing you where it is. Decathlon is close by on the opposite side of the road a few 100m further north if you need anything camping wise

The Dia supermarket, nearest one to you, may also sell it of course. Follow the boardwalk to the paved prom, ride up to the first bar on the end of the road and turn right up that road until you meet the RM-F34 at the roundabout.

Thank you that’s very helpful. I’ll let you know how I get on.

It is a lovely area and we could be stuck in far worse places!

That’s not as daft a request as you may think. The first time we went Australia the family out there wanted a consignment of Marmite and Polo mints.

We're planning on coming down that way but it'll probably be another 6 weeks before we get there as we don't set off until mid-March.

We have some ‘on-site’ if you’re desperate…

When we go out to collect the bike, for your gas and bottled water etc, we could do that at the Carefour who will likely sell the sauce… 👍🏻

Dawn, so sorry to hear about Martin. Are you ok there, need anything (other than Worcester sauce). We are not so far away, just the other side of Cartagana at the moment, if you need any help.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Mr Mousy.

Dawn, you could probably get anchovy sauce easier here - maybe that could be a substitute?

I have bring boxes of Shredded to Brisbane when I go visiting...
I used to take packets of Chivers jelly to my sister in Benalmadena and on one occasion I had to explain 'heevers helly' to a Customs officer.

How could anyone run out of Lea &Perrins?
Maybe Martin has been drinking it to numb his pain or had it rubbed on to try to 'mend' the break quickly ... of course he could be using it as a fake sun tan too! :giggle:

Ah, reminds me of the ‘good old days’ (not) of running cotton, coffee and 9mm ammo to rellies in Rhodesia (as it then was) following UDI.

Bugger, bugger, bugger. I hope Martin's shoulder heals quickly. Not that I can help much from here, if you need something that I could possibly post out to you, don't hesitate to ask Dawn.

ps - I bet he wished he had been wearing his airbag jacket.

Many thanks Phil, he’s hoping to be better for his Scottish trip end of April but we’ve cancelled our Istanbul holiday.
And yes you are spot on with the airbag inner. Probably no damage to him at all if he was wearing it.

If we keep the scooter (in discussion) I’ll definitely be getting Kevlar jeans and jacket etc and I’ve decided we will no longer take Millie on it.

Many thanks Sandra, after todays refill I think we will be fine.

Ger, I’ll look out for anchovy sauce because I used to have a craving for Gentleman’s relish and it might be similar.

Minxy. He hit some oily gravel on a roundabout and came off the scooter.

Phil, he’s absolutely gutted he wasn’t wearing it!

Thanks so much for all the offers of help and support.
We really appreciate it.
We are now well set up here and luckily have plenty of time to let him heal.

As this arrived ok from Amazon today my shopping opportunities have widened. Including 1 ltr of Lea and perins to be ordered later!
