I'm a newbie
Hi, has anyone been to Woodyhyde, I have checked the dimensions and my Motorhome fits under the bridge.

just wondered if anyone else has been and what Motorhome they had?

"The entrance to our site is via a railway bridge which is 10.5 feet high by 9 feet wide" according to their website which, I suspect will be adequate for most motohomes - just! I don't know the site personally, but it is in a beautiful part of Dorset with many lovely walks around. Swanage is a quaint old town, and Studland Bay (NT) has one of the best beaches on the south coast. Advert over; I love Dorset!

Thanks Jon

perfect size for my Motorhome I reckon I have about a ft spare on width

We live nearby and drive up there once.,. Reached the bridge and thought oh s**t. Fortunately there is a turning point. We are 3.2m so no chance. From all accounts a lovely site,

we are 2.9 so height is not the worry, it is the width we don’t like.

we love the area though

don't forget your extras satellite etc

We have stayed!

But we've got a 6.4m pvc - body width only 2.05m - and even then, it was a case 'breath in' and take it slow. It is narrow!

I imagine you'll manage with a standard width coacbuilt. The tricky bit could be if you have to fold your mirrors in. Might need a passenger to see you through.

Lovely site, and if you want, you can pitch in the field next the railway line and see all the steam trains go by. (y)

what’s an additional 30cms. Hmmm

Exactly...

30cm, or about a foot in old money. ;)

And, as I said, don't forget those long-arm rear view mirrors!

Having had a couple of standard-width coachbuilts, I know how much further they stick out...

Live dangerously and give it a go. I think we did see a few coachbuilts on the site.

Good luck! (y)

Woodyhyde is great, the bridge was easy to navigate and did not feel too much of a challenge. I was on my own and folded the drivers mirror in and used the other to position the van.

i reccomend the site to any coach builts with less than 3 metres height

great place to visit

We are booked in there for three nights next week. Our V Line should go in, one advantage of a PVC.

I hope it is not as hot as it is today though. I paid for the stay when we booked it up about six weeks ago so I won’t upset anyone if we do not turn up. I do not like trying to sleep in an oven.

we have stayed in field one, as the train is fabulous. Visited Corfe Castle, and chilled on Swanage beach as day was so hot. Evenings have cooled enough to be comfortable

We got through with our Liberty it’s 2.2 m wide
Was definitely on the snug side! But we made it and it’s a lovely site

We stayed there a few weeks ago and will be going again in a couple of weeks so we can go scuba diving near by.
Our van is 6,358 x 2,050 x 2,830 mm no problem at all.
