Wish I could have replied..😖

I wouldnt worry too much - if the thread was locked, it will be on page 6 by tomorrow.
Unless another one is started for the sheer hell of it. Sometimes a deep breath is needed, including from me.

If you used the quote button it shows the original poster and content so it's easy to see it's not your text.
If, on the other hand, you copy and pasted the text it would appear as your text.
Always use the quote button then edit the quote if necessary.

I have been in the same situation before now though, you write a big long reply to something and then when you come to upload it , it's locked, for no good reason sometimes.

Jim tends to lock good discussions even if there are good points to be made, when posts become bitter

I had a good factual post lined up about the minimal risks of toxocariasis which is always the n-bomb lobbed at dog owners who don't pick up... which actually doesn't turn out to be a major threat.
Not 'nice' on a kiddie's playground, but not but not really a threat elsewhere.

Our local primary school has 2' x 2' boards on each half of it's main gates each with the same lengthy description of the dangers to children of toxocariasis from contact with dog faeces. Nothing to warn of the considerably greater danger of parking, dropping off, and performing three point turns, within the zig-zag road markings though.

My son played a lot of rugby in school and we travelled across to Whitley Bay for a tournament. He scored the winning try in one of the qualifiers, but it was somewhat tempered by the fact that he slid through a dog turd to reach the touch line.

Not nice certainly, totally agree - but my point was it wasn't a risk of Toxocariasis.

As many have posted above. It really isn’t worth bothering about.

Many of us have, at one time or another, made a post which has been misconstrued. Sometimes our wording was unclear, sometimes someone just wants to disagree.

You know that you were quoting somebody else, so just try to put it behind you and enjoy using the Forum.

If it helps, I didn’t see the “offending “ post and, I suspect, nor did most of the Forum members.

Now, about the football............. ;)
