We’re going to use our MH right through the winter. In between trips the van will be parked in our drive and hooked up. A pal said he runs a small oil filled radiator in his van to keep the chill off. Thoughts?

We do have solar fitted and utilising that would be cheaper if it was practical - probably wishful thinking?

No need to heat a van when not using it. Warm air holds more moisture so more condensation, your van has enough natural ventilation and will be quite happy unheated.
Solar at this time of year will just about keep the batteries topped up you won't have any spare power. To run a heater from solar you would need about a 100 solar panels or more.

Never heated a van. Just look at the millions of pounds worth sat on dealer forecourts, they won't be heated.

Why heat an empty van???? Unless of coarse you want it nice and toasty ready at a moments notice for when SHMBO says "darling think you should sleep in van tonight" 😂😂😂😂

A motorhome does not have feelings like a human! No need to heat when in storage during the winter. Just make sure its had a proper drain down and leave a couple of vents open to allow air to circulate through van. Job Done.
