Check out the recently announced Winnebago EKKO, really cool.
A true off grid Camper, massive spec around £125000.
Does anyone in Europe make something similar for the price.

I'm not sure what's so special about it. 4WD but negligible ground clearance so off-roading is confined to damp fields.

You can get a 4WD winterized PVC from Possl.

“The camper can sleep up to four people with the optional pop-up roof tent.”

How does that work with 3 solar panels present?

The low weird awning thing on the UK nearside wouldn't last long ... it's bad enough with mirrors getting hit by idiots, can you imaging what would happen if that got hit!

Ford Transit All Wheel Drive that packs the automaker’s 310-horsepower (231-kilowatt) 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that pairs with a 10-speed automatic, thats a good start ;)

I liked the outside kitchen and Ooo a garage(y) went a bit downhill inside though, haven't had a shower curtain for about 25 years so that would be a big no no, the cab wastes a lot of space so needs to be A class:ROFLMAO:

What's cool
310 bhp V6 4x4 10 speed auto
31 gallon fuel tank
50 gallon water tanks
455w solar 315 amp hr lithium batteries with dedicated alternator.
Full winterisation, double floor.

Massive payload
Who makes to this spec?

Well we have,
470nm 210BHP 4 wheel drive ;)
44 gallon fuel tank
80 gallon fresh water with 110 gallons waste,
520w solar and 320ah lithium with the option to double both of these,
fully winterised double and heated floor (y)

over 2t payload before options added, the difference is we have garage and storage space to utilise it,

Forgot to mention decent travel seats, granted not as posh as a Hymer but geared for the active outdoories not the turn up at the Caravan Club site and turn the TV on brigade.

What is the payload actually as all I can see is 5t gross, or that's my interpretation (y)

I've driven our Winnebago with it's OFF side awning for 10 years without any trouble.

Hi Martin, may I ask what kind of mpg you get with a morelo or Concorde type moho with the Iveco engine with the auto box.
RWD will be my next and final van but not for at least 5-7 yrs👍

Interesting engine, High output lowish capacity with 670nm of torque ( this is the important bit for a MH) and chain driven cams. I wonder if we will get it? brave move to bring a petrol engined MH over here atm

Not run in yet but hoping for 20+ not there yet though ;)

That wouldn’t be bad for a big van like that!! Prob only get 27 out of the 3.0L auto Sonic🤔🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I guess the old adage that if you have to ask the mpg Of something you can’t afford it rings true😂😂😂😂

Maybe one day 😉👍👍

I think the Petrol is 540nm Jon 670nm might be a diesel ;)

I could get 24 out of the Flair if I tried or 19 if I tried even harder:LOL: the Palace is taller heavier and a touch wider so the numbers are stacked against it.

Excellent effort 9 out of 10, winterised, 4 wheel drive, good garage, nice layout, a big well done, looks a beauty to me.

Never heard length or payload mentioned though.

I think the garage is OK Paul but too low and too narrow to be of much use, two bikes and it's about full, payload I think will be minimal but awaiting confirmation of the claimed "massive payload"

Length 23'2" or 25' depending on floorplan.

Looks the same size garage as ours Martin, maybe the Ekko is a bit smaller but our A class is only 21 foot(6.48metres) nevertheless a very useful space on such a small van.

A good effort for an American motorhome where a lot of complaints is about lack of a garage.

Small dinette though and I'm not keen on the swing wall shower walls.

There is a Winnebago Facebook page which is interesting reading and a 30 minute youtube video for those interested.

I have watched a video, not sure if it was the same one but didn't see anything about payload.

I'm talking about the low down one that extends round the corner onto the rear not the normal awning which is mounted at the usual level ...

I've asked the payload question on the groups Facebook page, hopefully when America wakes up I'll have an answer.

most of us drive with near side awnings in France can’t see the problem

And automatic
This 8 speed should be more economical that 6 manual gears Jon as it stays in the sweet spot, that might be the sweet spot for emissions at the moment but a remap might change that.

Its going to be higher geared but the torque converter is going to be sapping some of the power. Hence truck 'autos' are actually computerised manuals.

having said all that Martin as you know there are far bigger potential costs than MPG with MH's.
