Wine shopping in Santander

We leave on the ferry from Santander tomorrow having enjoyed 6 weeks in Spain. This is our first time returning directly from Spain rather than going through France. We are struggling to buy 5l or 10l boxes of wine to bring back. Carrefour in Santander seemed only to have 3l boxes and other supermarkets with parking for a motorhome seem thin on the ground. I would welcome any advice from Funsters who have bought boxes of wine in Santander. We prefer wine boxes as we don't have the weight of the bottles to carry.

We found the same beginning of the year, was unable to find any 5l boxes only 3l from Carrefour, we tried Aldi, Lidle and other supermarket’s

You could try Lupa supermarkets.
Although the decent stuff comes in bottles.
They sell there this or similar, be advised is not the best quality

Same experience in Bilbao last summer - could not find boxes like in France. We bought bottles in the range of €2 to €4 and IMHO far better than french wine for the most part.

I got a cracking 5l box of red from E leclerc in Miranda de Ebro last year.

Same experience in Bilbao last summer - could not find boxes like in France. We bought bottles in the range of €2 to €4 and IMHO far better than french wine for the most part.

I think that will be what we will need to do.
