On my way down to Alde for a service today and spotted what appeared to be a bedroom window open. Upon stopping investigation showed the window firmly closed but the outer window of the double glazing had separated from the inner.

Gaffa tape secured it temporarily but I need to sort it properly, what's the best plan?

Plastics glue?

Anyone else had this problem?

Unfortunately,I would guess a replacement will be necessary.

Someone on the Forum will point you in the direction of one of the second-hand suppliers. (y)

Be very carefull when you handle it,
The last one i seen that seperated was razor sharp.

Same problem after our last trip and same short term remedy.
At home I removed the window, didn't realise they just lift up and off so easily, then carefully separated then two parts and cleaned them really well, then abrasive paper to get a key and some good quality glue to bond the 2 skins together.
As the inside skin sits effectively inside the outer skin I also used some aluminium tape to create a dam good seal between the two skins so they cannot separate again, this cannot be seen from outside and is very tidy so not that noticeable inside either.
As good as new and no cost at all............quoted 325quid to replace the whole unit.
Apart for drying times(overnight) etc this only take 10 mins to do.

Ecco would repair it if you haven’t tried to glue yourself.
