Busy weekend providing kayak safety cover at the Galloway Activity Centre on Loch Ken for a ‘wild swimming’ event.
The centre allowed us access to their camping field, which after the week’s heavy rain was a good test for my new Michelin Crossclimates. The access to the field was on a bit of an incline that would have immediately defeated my old Conti VanContacts in wet conditions, but the new tyres didn’t once slip, giving me hope for the coming winter.
Two night swims on Friday night with ‘one to one’ cover in the dark, apres paddle back at the vans saw three different single malts sampled and free bacon butties on Saturday morning, before a much more relaxed and sunny day for the longer swims.
Yesterday saw us back at the loch with the SUPs and Zack, otherwise known as ‘doggy paddling’ ?
