Been hearing this noise all night. Thought at first it was crickets. Open the door and no noise outside. It seems to come from the boiler area in the double floor. Sounds like a scratchy clock ticking at double speed. It's fairly quiet until you notice it.

I've tried unplugging mains, turning off pump, turning off 12v, running some water off turning the heater on then off.

It went continuously all night and was still on this morning. We've moved sites and can't currently hear it but that may be due to ambient noise.

Some Funster on here will know exactly what it is. Who can be first to enlighten me and put me in the good books of her indoors?

I had a similar noise coming from the pump (Shurflo Trail king 7), I noticed a small dribble and limescale type staining on the pump, I took it out to have a look and noticed the screws were not tight, I took screws out cleaned all mating surfaces and popped it all back together and back in, couldn't get any water to flow, tried priming by hand , still no good, out again strip apart and saw some very small black bits in a couple of the diaphragms gave everything a good clean and popped it back in and it primed itself and once pressure was up - silence

The boiler or the fridge trying to light on gas.

If your fridge is on, but you are not connected to EHU and the gas is off then you will get the clicking

Thing is, mine is a microswitch system so not pressurised.
